Crosstown Connection May 22-28
It's Pentecost Sunday!
Don't forget to wear your RED... or an ode to red. The Holy Spirit dwells in us. It empowers us. It leads us. And that is something to be celebrated!
Check out this video from Pastor Polly reflecting on the Spirit's indwelling in you.
What does the Holy Spirit empower you to do? Email Pastor Polly your answer.
The Holy Spirit is empowering you to do something.
What is it? Here are three songs to contemplate. They are very different in style, find one that speaks to you.
Happy 15 years at Crosstown to Pastor John!
We would love to collect words and cards of encouragement. They can be mailed to Crosstown (5540 30th Ave S Minneapolis, MN 55417), emailed to Pastor John, or brought to church. Celebration will be presented this Sunday.
This Saturday!

You will send an encouraging note or email to a student while at camp. This is great way to live out our value of multi-generational community. Contact Polly or Angie to adopt a camper. Info sheet on how to contact a camper is here.
Hospitality & Friendship âž  Community Caring Commission
As Crosstown continues to have conversations about "adaptive leadership" and needed refocusing, the Hospitality & Friendship Commission has been working on that for the last 6 months. This work has led to a rebranding of the commission to Community Caring with a focus on prioritizing our "compassion for people" both within our church community and in our local neighborhood. This is a commission of service. If you are interested in learning more contact Michelle Larson shellarson@earthlink.net
Our next commission meeting is talking about what it looks like to be a welcoming church on Sunday morning. We would love for you to join us in that conversation.
GriefShare Concludes
In 2013 Iris Smyth opened a chapter of GriefShare at Crosstown. This was a support group open to anyone in any stage of grief. The group followed the national GriefShare curriculum. Most years Crosstown hosted three 13-week sessions with various volunteers from the congregation leading. We celebrate the six years of this ministry. Thank you to all those that led with vulnerability to help others through their grief.
Parent Meeting on Zoom May 25

Family Play Dates
This summer the Children's commission is hosting 6 family play dates in various play ground locations and times around the Twin Cities. Be sure to watch your church app or the children website page for details. It's time to enjoy some fellowship to the sound of kids' laugher. What could be sweeter?
Thank You Verbo en Accion!
We want to express our thanks for the painting ministry of friends from Verbo on our east side canopy, metal work, and fascia. We invited our friend from Verbo to take on this task and they graciously accepted. Crosstown supplied the paint and Verbo supplied the labor of STL Painting. This is a painting contractor who is part of their congregation.
Global Missions Update
Through the leading of the Holy Spirit, Crosstown is working on a fresh vision for global mission. Kathy Anderson (kathleen-anderson@comcast.net) has offered to give leadership to this effort. The 1st step is a gathering in early June to dream and envision a new day for Crosstown's engagement with Jesus' global call. We invite you to participate by contacting Kathy and expressing your interest to her.
Have you been keeping up with The Chosen?
