Crosstown Connection August 15-21
Just Mercy- August 19
Crosstown Covenant Church invites you to join us for a free showing of “Just Mercy,” a gripping film based on the best-selling book by Bryan Stevenson.
Stevenson was the lawyer who founded the Equal Justice Initiative, a legal practice committed to assisting those who have been marginalized and wrongly condemned. “Just Mercy” tells the story of Bryan’s advocacy for Walter McMillian, a young man sentenced to death row for a crime he insists he never committed.
This powerful film shows how justice and compassion can work together and how the courage of one man can mean the difference between life and death for others.
Join us Wednesday, August 19th at 6:30pm. No RSVP required.
Our Daily Bread

Please complete this form if you would like a devotional book dropped off at your residence. Books will be delivered the last week of August.

All Church Retreat- Sept 18-20
2020 is going to be a great retreat year!
This is the first time that the whole church will be able to participate instead of dividing into two congregations!
There will be outdoor activities, an in-person speaker, live streaming options, lunches, socially distanced games... It's going to be a full weekend and we are hoping that you will pick at least one activity to join (in person or virtually).

We are working on the details, registration, food, and so forth. This is a large logistical undertaking. The website with all the details will be released August 26th!!!
It's communion Sunday and our first chance to try out the Miracle Meals.
* Don't forget your elements if you're watching live steaming.
Celebration of Jimmy Lindahl's Life- Aug 22
There will be a service for Jimmy Lindahl on Saturday, August 22nd. This service will be for family only, but the congregation is welcome to attend by live stream at 11:00 on the Crosstown YouTube channel.

Memorials in Jim's memory can be made to Crosstown Covenant Church, Minnehaha Academy, or Covenant Pines Ministries.
Bridal Shower- Aug 15
Kyla Fischer, daughter of Jim & Deena, is getting married in September. Samantha Buchanan, Kari Wheeler Young and Lynette Wheeler invite you to a bridal shower to celebrate!

Join us Aug 15 from 11:00a-1:00p at 6229 Morgan Ave Richfield. Because of the times, we will be trying to do this very carefully. The event will be outside and you can stop by to visit or opt to drive by and chat with Kyla from a distance. A light lunch will be available.

We would like you to RSVP to Lynette at 612-770-6351, Kari 612-281-4173, and Samantha 612-403-7863. Kyla is registered at Target.

GriefShare
The GriefShare team (Iris Smyth, Judy & John Madsen, Tom & Nancy Pikal and Sue Bjurlin) thank you for your prayer support. They have discerned that the fall GriefShare session will not occur at Crosstown. However there are a number of groups in the Twin Cities that are meeting virtually and in person. Please use the griefshare.org website to locate these groups.
The Crosstown team will continue to offer phone call support to anyone in need. Please contact Iris for arrangements: ilbsmyth@yahoo.com. The team will continue to meet and pray for people as they consider the winter 2020 session.  Please pray for wisdom as we seek God's will, keeping both safety and the needs of people grieving the loss of loved ones in mind during this season of pandemic.
Crosstown App Tutorial
It's great to see over 70 people download the Crosstown App!
Each week we're going to highlight a feature on the App. This week the special feature is NOTES. Did you know that you can take notes on the App? It will save them for you to read later. And you can even take notes on a specific sermon.
If you click on the sermon message you can take notes there. You can also find the video here after the live stream is completed.
This is an example of a note. No judgment - write whatever you find meaningful and want to remember.
Want to see your notes later? Use the menu tab (triple horizontal line icon top left) and it will give you this pop out. Click notes.
PS... did you see that the new Crosstown website launched?
