Crosstown Connection Jan 9-15
24 Hour Prayer Vigil - Jan 8 & 9
It's not too late to join the prayer vigil. Our creative arts team has created a 4-station prayer walk to help us journey through the Crosstown verse of the year (Hebrews 12:1-3). We encourage you to sign up for 30 minutes or more as a family (kids and youth), couple, or individual.

The prayer guide is available here, printed at Crosstown, and on the app. Feel free to utilize this during the vigil or in whatever way best serves you. We are grateful for your partnership in this event as we start the year beseeching God together.
Praying from home?
We encourage you to gather a couple items in order to be able to progress through the prayer stations at home.
  • phone/tablet to watch the video
  • your Bible
  • a glass of water
  • a rock
  • post-it note or paper with pen
  • a candle
..... 50 Days with Jesus .....
The second Chosen episode we will look at is "Shabbat," the story of the new Mary Magdalene and Nicodemus' searching. This episode is based on the following Scripture passages: Deuteronomy 5:12-15 and Mark 3:1-6. Watch all the episodes and Sunday sermons on our YouTube channel or on our website. Or join us in person on Sunday - check out the update from the COVID team below.
High School Event- Jan 9
Join us for an afternoon of gaming fun and snacks (2:00pm). We will play Among Us so don't forget to download the game. Check out the youth website page or app for links to join. RSVP to Angie to make sure you get your yummy snacks delivered!
Youth Group
Youth will gather on Zoom for the 8 weeks in January and February. The Zoom link and additional information will be on the Crosstown app. We begin our meeting time as a large group then split into small groups for discussion via the breakout room feature. For this reason, we recommend that siblings use separate devices (if possible). January will include Biblical teaching through a video series called, "I Can Only Imagine". We will also deliver weekly "youth group kits" to homes. These are meant to create a greater sense of community and togetherness even though we're in separate spaces.
TreeHouse
If you would like more information about this teen support group please reach out to Angie and check out the TreeHouse website.
Need Help!
In 2021 I would like to explore the idea of improving communication and online conversation, especially between members of the congregation. If you have a prayer request, how can you directly share it with the congregation and, as importantly, give updates? If you have a need or something to give, how can that be shared so that we can better support one another?
Kristi needs two dedicated people to explore these options, create a plan for implementation and education, and lead the congregation in utilization. If you have a heart for improving the connections within the congregation beyond friend groups and Bible study small groups please email the office.
Leadership Retreat- Jan 16
Crosstown is still gathering its leaders (ministry staff, elders, deacons) via Zoom for a retreat with guest facilitator Jon Kramka. He serves as the Director of Congregational Vitality for the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Jon will bring a voice of encouragement and challenge as we consider what we learned from 2020 and look ahead to the challenges of 2021. Please pray for this gathering.
CPBC
Registration for camp opens Jan 11th!
Jan 6 update from Covenant Pines:
Today we conclude our Big Picture Campaign with $311,025. We are overwhelmed with gratitude - this exceeds our goal more than $60,000. We are so thankful to serve such a faithful God who has provided for us through your generosity.

In addition to our Big Picture Campaign, we also received $161,965 in restricted gifts in the past six months. These are gifts given to scholarships, capital improvements, the new Worship Center and other designated areas of ministry. This totals $472,990 given in the past six months by 474 individuals, churches and businesses.

We could not have done this without you. Thank you - from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We are now able to look to the future and even cover some anticipated income loss in 2021 thanks to these gifts. We are so hopeful for this next year in ministry.
Wednesday Bible Study
Each week we’ll gather on Zoom or in person to hear faith-filled music, pray together, and explore God’s Word. The morning will begin with Lois Young leading from the piano. She will share from some of the great hymns and songs of our faith. After a time of prayer for others, Pastor John will lead us on a “deep dive” into Scripture.
CarePartners Learning Pod
Crosstown and CarePartners have renewed our partnership for 2021. We will continue to host learning pods four days a week in the gym. Students are in the building Monday-Thursday.
