Crosstown Connection April 16 - 22
Lent Lament- preparing for grace
“Watching people die was just another day in the life of a centurion, but Jesus was so different that they were compelled to say to their neighbor “you have to see this,” “it was amazing,” “surely this was the Son of God!”... Read more in our In Awe blog post.
Good Friday - April 15 @ 6:30
Join us in person or online for a service that will focus on the seven last words of Jesus on the cross. The service will include Scripture readings and reflections, worship music, and candles extinguished throughout, symbolizing the coming darkness that accompanied Jesus' death. At the conclusion of the service, there will be opportunity to experience bringing our sin to the cross of Jesus by hammering a nail into a wooden cross as we remember Jesus' amazing love and sacrifice for all of us.
Easter Morning - April 17
Bethel Ethiopian will join us for the morning.
9:00 Empty Tomb Hunt, conversation & treats for all ages
10:00 Worship Service
During worship this Sunday, we'll be celebrating Communion. If you participate on the livestream, we encourage you to make preparation so that you have bread and juice available. If it would be helpful to you, we're happy to provide you with a delivery of communion pods. Please let us know of your need by contacting Kristi.
Easter Sunday Conversation Starters
During our refreshment time from 9:00-10:00 we'll have the opportunity to interact with our new friends from Bethel Ethiopian Church. To assist and encourage interaction with one another, there will be "Conversation Cards" available on the tables. These cards will include suggested questions for us to discuss with one another.
Lent Giving Drive Final Collection!
Thank you to everyone who has donated products and monies to help with this project. We officially have enough money to complete the purchasing of the missing products to reach our 40 families goal! Our last collection day will be this Sunday. All products will be distributed at the April 27 Good in the 'Hood food shelf. The chart shows how many of each product we have so far in the house.
Congregational Meeting - April 24
This is one of three business meetings for the church. New leadership for the church will be presented. This meeting will be offered in person and livestreamed on an unlisted YouTube stream for security. The link will be in your app and placed in the newsletter the Thursday before.
Crosstown is now a Polling Location
In February Crosstown was approached by the Elections Office about the possibility of becoming a polling place. With the last census results and some redrawing of the precinct lines it became clear that a new location needed to be added. Kristi completed the assessment process with an Elections Official and Crosstown was proposed to the Elections Committee as a candidate location for review and approval. And we are happy to report that Crosstown passed through committee and has been approved. We will be the polling location for two elections this calendar year (August 9 and Nov 8). Just another way Crosstown can use the building to bless our neighbors!
Photos Needed
Crosstown doesn't have a photographer to capture events. Instead, everyone has the ability to capture life in the church with the phone in your hand. Please either email photos to office@crosstowncovenant.org or share them in Google Photos or Google Drive to us. We are especially hoping you will some pictures over Holy Week.
It's called He Leadeth Me.
Deena for the win with extra explanation "Stain Glass Window made by Ollie Oppen." This beautiful stained glass piece is tucked behind the hand sanitizer and coat rake at the main entrance. Check it out Sunday.

Join us on Instagram or Facebook for our "Where's that located?" game! 🧐
On Monday we publish an up close and personal image of something on the church property and then see if you can name the item and where it's located. 🤔
Wednesday Nights
programming runs from 6:30-7:45 at Crosstown

Survey Spam?
What's up with the survey in my email from Kristi...is it legit? Yes, I am working on a Grad School class focused on branding. The survey is to help me better understand Crosstown's "brand" as I complete research for a class project. Since this is for a personal project the survey was sent from my personal email. Feel free to contact me with questions. kristirjohnson@gmail.com
