How much is this going to cost?
What’s next? This final project is the culmination of a plan made nearly two decades ago. The full plan will be presented in the July 18th Congregational Meeting and voted on to proceed. The plan has evolved a little with the changing technologies and program needs. This constant change means that we can’t expect to upgrade the church once and think we are done. However, the changes we make now focus on flexibility so that most future needs may get resolved by upgrades during maintenance or replacement of failing equipment. In other words, the SRC hopes that these changes will make future changes easier and less costly.
The bill for the Sanctuary Renovation Project (SRP) is about $79,322 (which includes some outside expenses and a 10% contingency for cost over-runs), the question of how we pay the bill is forefront. Undesignated bequest funds would pay outright for 50% of the SRP and a capital campaign would fund the remaining 50%. Please read more about the plan details here. If this seems like a worthwhile investment in our church, its ministries, and the surrounding community, the SRC encourages you to step up and make an early donation to support the project.
How, you ask? Contact any member of the SRC: Dennis Olson, Pastor John, Michelle Acosta, Mike Anderson, Debby Berfeldt, Josh Smith, Bob Weides, or Marcia Wilkins. Also, Financial Secretary, Liana Ogawa, will take and record any donation. We ask that all donations to the SRP are in addition to regular giving so that the maintenance of our church and its ministries don’t suffer.
The SRC thanks you in advance for any donations or commitments you can make to the SRP. Those commitments are a vote for the future of Crosstown Covenant Church and its ministries.

Summer Conversations on Racial Justice!
|
|
|
We will dive into a book by Daniel Hill, White Awake: An Honest Look at What it Means to be White. This is a continuation of Crosstown's work to pursue the "ARC of Racial Justice: Awareness, Relationships, Commitment." For those who are white to move forward in the hard work of wrestling with what it means to be white in America, this book provides an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to deepen our ability to "SEE" the presence of racial injustice.
|
|
Conversations are Tuesdays in person @ 7:00pm July 6, 13, 20 and August 3
or Mondays on Zoom @ 12:00pm July 12, 19, 26 and August 2 ( Zoom link)
RSVP to Pastor John by July 6. Please purchase your own book.

Healing House Worship Service Needs You- July 17
This event is an opportunity for us to serve and invest in our neighborhood. Metro Hope is a residential drug and alcohol recovery program serving men, women, and mothers with children just a few miles from us. We get to coordinate and lead one of their Saturday morning chapel services. We need people to coordinate refreshments, serve refreshments, provide childcare during the service, lead worship, and do the teaching.
We're going to be at Healing House, the women and children's center, on July 17 from 9:30am -11:00. The location address is kept confidential until it's closer to our date. My understanding is that they're also located in south Minneapolis. Please RSVP to Angie or Polly by July 13.
