Crosstown Connection Sept 26- Oct 2
Our current sermon series is two weeks of encouragement. In this season of emotional stress, how can we come together to support each other? How are we to be the church?
We invite you to utilize a Post-it note. Leave a note of encouragement for someone. We even have daily notes of encouragement on our facebook page. Share it with someone.
Sept 27th we will look at Hebrews 10:25 "And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near."
Retreat Recap
Retreat was such a wonderful time of fellowship and faith growing! Thank you to the over 100 people who came and participated, both virtually and in person. And thanks to all the volunteers behind the scenes that worked to make the weekend happen! We couldn't have done it without you!
or on your Crosstown app!

Youth Ministry
During youth group, our 6-12 graders connect with God and others through games, Biblical teaching, and small group community. Our vision is to nurture life-long faith that not only hears God's Word but puts it into practice. Due to Covid-19, we'll meet outside in the Crosstown garage for as long as weather permits. Bring your own lawn chair and mask.
Children's Ministry
Families Together is the new initiative to replace Kids Too! during this pandemic season. Families will meet the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of each month. Families will gather and sit together in the sanctuary for 45 minutes of music, games, lessons, and fun. This will follow all the Covid-19 safety regulations.
*Next meeting is Oct 7th*
Adult Ministry
This disciple-building process will include listening, learning, and lamenting as we read through Jemar Tisby's book "Color of Compromise" so that we can advance as followers of Jesus who are engaging with Jesus’ call to work against racism. There will be two participation options: in person and on Zoom.
Lots of Bible Study Options!
Colossians over Lunch
Join Polly on Zoom from 12:00-12:30 every Friday in October to study Colossians.

This course is designed to equip men with the essential skills to fight and win the battles of walking with God, marriage, raising children, money, sex, work, hard times, and making your life count.

To inquire more contact Bruce Knutson at or call/text 952-454-3067 by September 27. Times and dates of study will be worked out after all who are interested contact Bruce.
Wednesday Bible Study
Each week we’ll gather at 10:00 both on Zoom and in person to hear faith-filled music, pray together, and explore God’s Word.
The Tuesday morning women's Bible study group will be starting a new series in October. They will be studying Priscilla Shirer's book on Gideon. There will be a video component that you can watch at home and a book. The group meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 9:00. If you are interested in joining please contact Lois Young to RSVP and get book information.
We desire to activate our power to pray, and our desire to grow community in our WHOLE congregation - both virtual and in-person. We want families to be covered in prayer this year and to know that they are not alone, but that the whole church family is cheering them on!
As we begin this school year, we are seeking to both cover our families in prayer and build each up! Would you join us by adopting one of our families for this semester?
In adopting a family, you commit to:
1- Pray for them! You commit to pray for both parents and children as they navigate this semester of learning.
2 - Encourage and support them. We encourage you to find various ways to bless this family with words of encouragement, as well as other acts of kindness.
Stay Up-to-date with Children's Ministry
With COVID there have been many changes to ministry. In the spring we focused on offering age-specific Zoom devotionals with Polly and video children's messages. For the fall we are working on providing you with a better virtual ministry home. In the Crosstown app you will soon find a special Children's Ministry tab. This will contain your event calendar, children's message videos, age-specific devotionals, links to Zoom meets, and more.

We would love to be able to notify you when there are new events and content. Please turn on your push notifications to match what content you would like to receive. For example, if you have a preschooler then turn on the "Pre-K" group.

We are excited to partner with you, the parents, in disciplining your children through the pandemic. Links to download the app are at the end of the newsletter. Contact Kristi with tech questions and Polly with ministry questions.
Retirement of Colin and Dee Murphy
This month Colin and Dee Murphy will be retiring from ministry with Wycliffe. Please see their website newsletter for more information. The Missions Commission will be sending a gift of acknowledgement to them from Crosstown, but we also encourage you to send a card thanking them for their 41 years of ministry.
