Crosstown Priorities: Holistic Discipleship–
(This is the 2nd of a 3-part series highlighting our congregational priorities).
Holistic Discipleship--In talking about “holistic discipleship” at Crosstown, we have in view the Great Commission ("Go and make disciples of all nations"...Matthew 28), the Great Commandment ("Love God and love your neighbor as yourself" Matthew 22:35-40, Mark 12:28-34, Luke 10:27) and the Great Requirement ("What does the LORD require of you, but to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God,” Micah 6:8). We are seeking to lift-up a robust discipleship that includes BOTH personal piety (spiritual disciplines / practices) as well as public witness (both evangelism AND acts of justice). One common metaphor is that the "holistic gospel" is like a plane with two wings. If our plane has only one "wing" it will neither lift-off from the ground nor fly. On the other hand, a robust gospel with two wings (personal & public faith) is able to soar forward and participate fully in the mission of God. Holistic discipleship is about following Jesus with our head, heart, hands and feet in all of life!

MN Adult & Teen Challenge @ Crosstown!
|
On Sunday, June 4 Crosstown will welcome our dear friends from this dynamic ministry. During worship, we’ll hear accounts of Jesus’ life-changing work in the lives of those in this ministry. Plus, the choir will share joy in Jesus’ name through song. We’ll receive a special offering to bless the ministry of this faith-based organization. Following worship, we’re invited to share a meal in the Commons with our new friends. This is a time of worship that is not to be missed!
