Crossways Connections
January 2018
A New Year with New Opportunities
While this year is realizing some changes at Crossways Camping Ministries, it is doing so as an organization that is even more committed and called to live out its mission “bringing people together in Christ so lives are changed, and communities enhanced."

This has been made even more evident to me as I began my role as the Interim Executive Director at the beginning of this year. While I have had the blessing and privilege to serve this organization on various committees and as a member of the board of directors since 2013, what I have experienced in a very short time in this new role has been amazing. I have witnessed the total commitment of an amazing staff and heard incredible and intimate stories of lives impacted, all this in just three short weeks...  (continue reading here)

May you experience the peace and joy of Christ today,
Laurie Wilkinson
Interim Executive Director

Waypost Easement Makes the News!
The Conservation Easement at Waypost made the news this month! WPR and the Wausau Daily Herald both published stories highlighting this exciting accomplishment.

To quote the Daily Herald, "[The easement] will protect wildlife habitat and scenic beauty, better protect water quality and promote lakeshore and archaeological conservation via education...[It] also will preserve and protect archaeological resources, as the entire camp property is designated an archaeological site by the Wisconsin State Historical Society. In spring 2016, an archaeological study confirmed reported Native American Burial Mounds and artifacts of a Native American summer encampment."

The conservation easement will enable Crossways to live even more into one of our core values, Care of Creation, as we preserve and protect our shoreline for generations to come.

Here are the links to the two stories. Feel free to share with friends!

Tune in to WPR on Thursday, January 25 , at 10:00am to hear a second interview with Jake Czarnik-Neimeyer and Janet Smith (North Central Conservancy Trust) on Glen Moberg's program, "Route 51."
