Guest Pastor this Sunday
Pastor Mollie Dvorak and her husband, Dave, are the proud parents of 13-year-old triplet boys—Henry, Nolan, and Graham. They live in Anoka, Minnesota, with their two mini goldendoodles, Louie and Maisy. Mollie has served as an ELCA pastor in both the Minneapolis and Saint Paul synods for over 15 years, and spent a year as a hospice chaplain with Moments Hospice. She is currently called as the Pastoral Care Coordinator at Saint Therese Senior Living in Corcoran. In this role, Pastor Mollie lives into her deepest passions: building meaningful relationships with residents and families, offering hospice and end-of-life care, and providing compassionate education around grief and loss.

An Update from Pastor Mark
Moving to One Unified Service
As we navigate seasons of change together at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, the Church Council has recommended that we gather as a single, unified worship body at 9:30 AM, with Fellowship Hour and Sunday School to follow starting at 10:40 AM. This intentional, strategic step is designed to
strengthen our communal bond and practice good stewardship in a few key ways:

Vibrant Worship: Combining our average attendance of 125 fills our 220-seat sanctuary beautifully. This creates a warm, lively environment that lifts our spirits and is welcoming to visitors.

Volunteer Stewardship: Moving to one service cuts our needed volunteer support nearly in half, protecting our faithful servants from burnout.

Room to Grow: Our sanctuary's ideal capacity is 165 worshippers. Operating a single service is the most sustainable path forward right now. If our combined attendance consistently approaches that mark, we will gladly reopen the conversation to expand into two services again.

Handbells Are Starting Back Up for the Year Soon!
The Handbell Choir is looking for one or two more people to join our group.
You need to be able to stand behind a table to ring handbells and it's good to be able to read music. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 6:15pm to 7:15pm in Classroom 6 on the lower level of the church. We're currently scheduled to start weekly rehearsals on Thursday, September 3rd. Hospital Visitation
If you or someone you know will be hospitalized and would like a visit from our pastor, please reach out to the church office or directly to Pastor Mark. HIPAA confidentiality laws prohibit hospitals from sharing patient information.

Share the Harvest at the
St. Barnabas Cornucopia!
Many gardeners at St. Barnabas are experiencing a beautiful surplus of fresh vegetables! To celebrate and share this abundance, we invite everyone to participate in our weekly St. Barnabas Cornucopia exchange.
Here is how you can help feed our community:

Drop Off & Trade: Starting this Sunday, bring your extra homegrown produce to the round table in the Narthex to share or swap with others.

Take Home: If you see vegetables on the table, please help yourself and take some home to enjoy!

Blessed Blessings: Whatever remains on the table by the end of the day on Thursday will be placed on an outdoor table for the public. Thank you for sharing your harvest and supporting our local community!

Lutheran Campus Ministry-Twin Cities is a Christian community by students, for students. They are rooted in Word and Sacrament, and lifts up the gifts of our ever changing young adult community.

Kids Fest ~ August 20th
Kids Fest at the Hilde Performance Center features inflatables, vendor booths, activities and entertainment held on the Hilde stage and surrounding lawn. The event is free and open to the public from 5pm-8pm. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from food trucks at the event.

Dragonflies are ancient, master-flying predators that have existed for over 300 million years. They feature near 360-degree vision, can fly up to 35 miles per hour, and catch up to 97% of the prey they target in midair, making them phenomenal natural mosquito controllers.
