Call Committee Update

After completing second-round interviews last week, the call committee is pleased to announce that we have recommended a candidate to the council. We feel extremely lucky that many wonderful people were interested in joining us here at St. Barnabas. There are a few more steps to complete before we can share details, so we appreciate your patience. Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we complete this process.

Preaching this Sunday

We are excited to welcome Rev. Brian Scott from Lutheran World Relief (LWR). Pastor Brian serves as Senior Advisor of Congregational Engagement and has been a Lutheran Pastor for almost 25 years. Last year he started working with LWR. LWR began at the end of WWII, is grounded in Lutheran theology and seeks to tackle global poverty by helping people adapt to the challenges that threaten their livelihoods and well-being. Pastor Brian will also share a presentation in the Alcove during coffee hour. The best part of his job is visiting churches to thank them for shining the light of Christ into the world.

Global Health Ministries

Global Health Ministries (GHM) is an independent Lutheran nonprofit (501c3) established in 1987, and specializes in capacity-building for Lutheran health systems in under-resourced countries, serving some of the most vulnerable people in the world. We believe all people should have access to a healthy life. But they don’t. Together we can make a difference. Each year thousands of volunteers gather in our Minnesota-based warehouse to help sort and pack medical equipment and supplies to share around the world. At the request of our international partners we also

offer grants and volunteer consultants to help build their capacity to move the needle on health in their communities and effect sustainable and enduring change.
