St. Barnabas Annual Meeting & Brunch Potluck

Sunday, January 26th

After our 9:30am worship service, please join us at 10:30am as we look back at our 2024 year, discuss our 2025 church budget, and bring important votes for open council positions and our annual church budget. This is our important work of the church, and you are an important part of this process.

Immediately following the meeting we will celebrate together with a brunch potluck. Bring something to share! Yes, it's a good old fashion potluck!

Please plan to attend.

Our Gift of Love for January is our partner congregation, San Pablo/St. Paul’s. Their pastor, Hierald Osorto will be with us, preaching in worship and leading a forum between services and Pastor Stephanie will be preaching at San Pablo/St. Paul’s. Pastor Hierald was called to serve as Pastor of Saint Paul Lutheran Church/

Iglesia Lutherana San Pablo in October 2021. Pastor Hierald previously served Ithaca College as the Executive Director for Student Equity & Belonging and the founding Director of Religious & Spiritual Life.

Choir & Handbells

Handbell choir rehearsals will resume on January 9th & choir rehearsals will resume on January 16th.

Poinsettias

We have lots of poinsettias if anyone would like to take some home. They will be thrown out next week.

Like Coffee?

Everyone enjoys having a treat and a cup of coffee with their friends on Sunday mornings, but we can’t offer this ministry of fellowship without people to host the coffee hour. While we could use more volunteers in lots of ministry areas, we’re especially in need of extra Coffee Hosts. If you’ve never volunteered in this area before, we will train you in everything you need to know. Sign up at the Welcome Center.

Hospital Visitation

If you or someone you know will be hospitalized and would like a visit from a pastor, please reach out directly to the church office or one of the pastors. HIPAA confidentiality laws prohibit hospitals from sharing patient information.

The Prayer Chain

If you would like to participate in praying for our members and friends, please talk with Pastor Tom or Pastor Stephanie. If you would like to request prayer from our Prayer Chain, contact Brenda in the church office or talk with one of our pastors. Please indicate if you would like your prayer request to be shared with the congregation, or if it is confidential.

January "Gift of Love"

San Pablo/St. Paul’s Lutheran Church

St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church was founded in 1887 to meet the spiritual needs of the Swedish Lutherans of the Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis. Much has changed in the neighborhood, but their purpose

remains strong- to meet the needs of the neighborhood and faith community, through weekly worship as well as deep community involvement. They are a central fixture in the neighborhood, with their building hosting one medical clinic, daily Spanish-language AA meetings, and the Semilla Center for Healing and the Arts.
