Guest Preacher this Sunday
The St Barnabas Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Committee is looking forward to hosting Pastor Jim Bear Jacobs at St Barnabas this Sunday, January 11th. Pastor Jacobs will preach about the role of Christian churches in promoting reconciliation between Native Americans and non-Native Americans and how we can constructively move forward with these efforts. Pastor Jacobs served the Minnesota Council of Churches as a co-director of Racial Justice from 2018 through December 2025, and has spoken thoughtfully on how and why Native Americans have felt alienated by traditional Christian Churches. We hope that he will also help our Congregation understand how we can welcome the spiritual journeys and special experiences of Native Americans in our area into our own Faith Community. You can learn more about his work as part of this story from Minnesota Public Radio:

January "Gift of Love"
San Pablo/St. Paul
St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church was founded in 1887 to meet the spiritual needs of the Swedish Lutherans of the Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis. Much has changed in the neighborhood, but their purpose remains strong- to meet the needs of the neighborhood and faith community, through weekly worship as well as deep community involvement. They are a central fixture in the neighborhood, with their building hosting one medical clinic, daily Spanish-language AA meetings, and the Semilla Center for Healing and the Arts.
