Over the next few weeks, we will read and discuss the book God Meets Us in Our Suffering by Dr. Rolf Jacobson, Dr. Karl Jacobson, and Pastor Mike Pancoast.

The Book's description: A cancer diagnosis changes everything. Fear, uncertainty, and suffering become daily realities—not just for patients but also for families, friends, and caregivers. Where is God in this?
In God Meets Us in Our Suffering, three pastors who journeyed through cancer together share their deeply personal stories. With honesty, compassion, and humor, they offer theologically rich reflections on illness and hope, including:
- how to navigate doubt and find strength in the theology of the cross;
- how Psalm 23 guides us through uncertainty and suffering;
- how God meets us in suffering with grace and power; and
- how laughter, love, and community sustain us in the darkest moments.
For those living with a serious illness and those journeying alongside them, this book offers comfort, courage, and a renewed trust in God's faithfulness.

New Prayer Shawls Have Arrived!
Thank you to Sally Kelby and Andrea Terhune for their continued efforts and talents in support of our Prayer Shawl ministry.
Prayer Shawls are made with prayers woven into each one. Loving hearts and hands make up the Prayer Shawl Ministry. The crafter prays for the recipient as her needles create a soft shawl that is given to members, our families and friends in times of trial. Prayer shawls are a tangible way to help them feel the prayers of the congregation and to experience God in a warm and loving way.
If you are interested in joining this ministry or if you would like to have (or share) a prayer shawl, check out the information available by the shawls on the lowest shelf of the Donation Station in the Narthex or reach out to Bonnie Welshons. Wow! Over 100 Sign-Ups for Pastor on Deck!
We are down to our final few dates. Be sure to visit the Welcome Center to view and sign up for one session that fits your schedule best before these sessions fill up completely:
· June 24 (2:00 PM at church)
· July 7 (2:00 PM at church)
· July 18 (5:00 PM)
· July 21 (6:00 PM)
These sessions are a wonderful opportunity to build community and look intentionally at our timeline: past, present, and future. Together, we are discussing who St. Barnabas was at its inception, who we are right now, and who we want to become—including what staff infrastructure we need to achieve that vision. If your schedule doesn't allow you to attend, you can still participate from afar. Please pray over these questions and share your reflections with us.

Hospital Visitation
If you or someone you know will be hospitalized and would like a visit from our pastor, please reach out to the church office or directly to Pastor Mark. HIPAA confidentiality laws prohibit hospitals from sharing patient information.

Summer Food Drive for IOCP
Help us feed our neighbors! Throughout June and July, St. Barnabas is hosting a joint food drive for Plymouth’s Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners (IOCP). Our campus partners, Qué Tal, the Boy Scouts and Kimbanguist Church, are also joining the effort.
Here is how you can participate:

What to bring: Non-perishable food items (a list of most needed items is available at the Donation Station in the Narthex and under the "Donations Needed" section below)

When to bring them: Every time you attend worship or a St. Barnabas event this summer.

Qué Tal families: Red box in Ministry Center.

OWLs Event ~ June 9th
Musical Ventriloquist Rev. Kevin Doely was a huge hit! Everyone really enjoyed Kevin's funny routines and stories. And his puppets were hilarious! Such a great afternon filled with lots of smiles, lots of laughs and really good food.

St. Barnabas Presence at the Pride Festival:
Spreading Love and Acceptance through Custom Buttons
St. Barnabas participated in the Golden Valley Pride Festival on June 13th, showcasing our commitment to inclusivity and support for the LGBTQ+ community. Volunteers hosted a vibrant, active booth where attendees could create custom buttons featuring messages of love, acceptance and pride, as well as learn more about St Barnabas. The booth featured a range of materials, allowing individuals to personalize their buttons with artwork, symbols, and slogans. This hands-on activity was one of the most popular booths at the Festival - we actually ran out of some button sizes! Our presence also served as a powerful reminder that All are Welcome at St. Barnabas.
