“Pastor on Deck” Meetings Update
Thank you to the eight families who quickly volunteered to host our "Pastor on Deck" meetings in their home or at church in June and July. Your response is greatly appreciated!
This Sunday, May 31st, the complete schedule of dates, times, and locations will be available. Please visit the the Welcome Center after service to sign up and join these important conversations.
All sign up sheets are specific to dates and times so read them carefully and only sign up for one date.

Hospital Visitation
If you or someone you know will be hospitalized and would like a visit from our pastor, please reach out to the church office or directly to Pastor Mark. HIPAA confidentiality laws prohibit hospitals from sharing patient information.

Kitchen Etiquette Reminder
If you have a meeting or you’re in a small group and you use cups, glasses, plates, etc., please clean up after your event. Wash your dishes and put them away, do not leave them in the dish rack. If using the counter or the islands, make sure you wipe off those as well.

Free Concert this Sunday, May 31st
The Hopkins Westwind Concert Band invites you to join us for an afternoon of “Musical Conversations” this Sunday from 3pm-4pm. This very special program will feature Hopkins Mayor Patrick Hanlon as the narrator for Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait, a moving and timeless reminder of what our democracy stands for. Leonard Bernstein’s popular and energetic Overture to Candide and works by three contemporary composers will round out our thought-provoking musical conversation. No reservations are needed. Please arrive early for the best seating.

Ava Mundt
Ava, granddaughter of Jim & Jackie Madison, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with honors in Legal Studies and Psychology along with certificates in Criminal Justice & Gender and Women’s Studies. She'll take a gap year before attending law school.

Tristan Farrey
Tristan, son of Chandra and Darin Farrey, graduated from Wayzata High School. He plans to attend the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in the fall, majoring in Chemical Engineering.

Riana Bjornlund
Riana, granddaughter of Bob & Nancy Bjornlund, graduated from
Paladin Career and Technical High School in Coon Rapids. She plans to attend Minneapolis Community and Technical College in the criminal justice field.

Dr. Carolynn Tiede
Carolynn is the youngest daughter of Pastors Connie and Mark Tiede. She graduated from The College of Saint Scholastica with a doctorate in Physical Therapy. She hopes to take some time off to rest and then launch her career somewhere in the Twin Cities.

Vera, daughter of Eric & Krista Boyd, graduated from West Middle School and is going to Wayzata High School next year.

Madeleine Seel
Madeleine, daughter of Holly Bayer, graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. She completed a double major in K-6 Elementary Education and Special Education
K-12.

Scott Peterson, son of Michael & Sheri Peterson, along with his dad Michael, both graduated from Metropolitan State University-St. Paul with MBAs. They completed their degrees together. Scott is furthering his career as an accountant with St. Louis Park Public Schools and Mike is planning to continue substitute teaching with Robbinsdale area schools next year.
Their other son Jeff Peterson, graduated from Waldorf University-Forest City, IA with a M. Ed. in Educational Leadership. Jeff is continuing his career as a Physical Education teacher with Robbinsdale area schools.

OWLs (Older Wiser Lutherans) Event
Our upcoming event on Tuesday, June 9th will feature Musical Ventriloquist Rev. Kevin Doely. This is a special “Laugh for Life” show with heart-warming routines that are full of laughs, comedy, and stories along with special guests Johnny Cash and Elvis! Come join in the laughs with Kevin and his life like figures and puppets!
At 12:30pm we will have a light lunch and showtime begins at 1pm. You can sign up at the Welcome Center
The deadline to sign up has been changed to Thursday, June 4th so we have more time to plan for food.

Volunteers Still Needed to Represent St. Barnabas at the Golden Valley Pride Festival, Brookfield Park, Golden Valley
St. Barnabas will again be hosting a booth at this year’s Golden Valley Pride Festival on Saturday, June 13th from 12pm-6pm. We need more volunteers to represent St. Barnabas. Join us for this fun, family-friendly event and help make “All are Welcome” a reality close to home. You can sign up at the Welcome Center for one of our volunteer shifts.
Available shifts (we would like to have 5-6 names for each shift:
10:30 – 1:00 (includes set up)
12:30 – 3:00
02:30 – 5:00
04:30 – 7:00 (includes take down)

The Plymouth Concert Band proudly presents “Celebrating 250” during our summer concert series.

May "Gift of Love"
Luther Park
Luther Park is a summer camp and year-round retreat and meeting facility located in Danbury, Wisconsin. Its people and programs assist congregations and groups in gathering around the Word for renewal and refreshment. People who come to Luther Park live together in small groups, participate in worship and learn activities as well as learn relationship building and have recreational opportunities. Each person is challenged and given the opportunity to speak out, take part in leadership, to experience spiritual growth, to develop outdoor skills and to grow socially.
