Beacon Speakers This Sunday

Craig Freeman and Mohamed Jama from Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative will be introducing themselves during each service and will have a forum in between services.

Craig Freeman: As Community Connection Manager, Craig shares Beacon’s vision that all people have a home, no exceptions, with both future and current Beacon leaders and supporters.  By leading informational tours, presenting to congregations, civic organizations, or businesses, and representing Beacon in public, he works to increase the organization’s capacity to provide homes.

Mohamed Jama: A congregational organizer for NW Hennepin suburbs.

Bring Your 2024 Pledge Cards To Worship This Sunday!

This Sunday we will receive your 2024 pledge cards during our offering time of worship. We will also have a special blessing of the pledges. We welcome pledge cards after that date if you are not able to attend, simply mail back to church, or drop off in the office. Someone from our congregation stewardship team will be contacting those who have not responded as we want to hear from everyone, even if you do not plan to fill out a formal pledge card. Simply send that in as is, and respond with your intentions even if you do not have an amount listed. It will help us to know that you received your packet. Thank you for your giving!

Thanksgiving Eve Worship

Wednesday, November 22nd at 6:30PM

Join us for a service of thanksgiving, contemplation and prayer on the night before our holiday. We will also have fellowship time of pie and coffee following the service. We would welcome any pie donations for this event. Let us know in the office if you would like to donate a pie.

Ministry Scheduler Pro

We’re coming to the end of our first scheduling cycle with Ministry Scheduler Pro. The next schedule will come out on December 1st. If there’s anything about this schedule that was incorrect (ministries you participate in, services you attend, for example), or if you just don’t understand how to work with the system, talk to Pastor Stephanie or Audrey Faust after church any Sunday in November. We’ll do everything possible to help make things work for you!

Congregation- please consider donating to the packages- we could use hot cocoa, microwave popcorn, fun post-its note pads, pens, chapsticks, and any other little comforts you can think of!

JustGifts Market

December 2nd & 3rd

The JustGifts Market Committee is gearing up for our 20th Anniversary! Please help us celebrate by visiting the market Dec. 2nd & 3rd! If you're new to St. Barnabas, the JustGifts Market is an alternative Christmas market where shoppers are able to buy a variety of handmade and fairtrade items, and/or donate to charities in lieu of a physical gift for anyone on your list who's hard to shop for!

Calling All Crafters & Artists!  Artists and crafters, as you work on your handmade projects this fall, please keep the market in mind! 100% of the sale of donated items goes to the charities featured at the market. Past items include sewn/crocheted/knitted items for adults and babies, jewelry, kitchen items, home decor, Christmas decorations, packaged food items, paper goods, cards, visual art, glass, woodworking, and flower arrangements.

Please bring items to the church office by Monday, November 27. Contact Jessica Gaedke at [email protected] with questions.

Morpheus Concert ~ Saturday, December 9th

Cub Foods Stamps

On behalf of our Quilter's group, I'd like to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who contributed Cub stamps. Your generosity enabled us to donate four covered skillets, six covered 3 quart pots and two 2 quart pots to Esperanza United.

Blessings,

Jackie Madison

Stamps are still trickling in so we may be able to get a few more items.

Seniors & Friends ~ November 14th

Thank you Don Collier for preparing such a wonderful meal and to all the volunteers that helped out from start to finish.

Christmas Dinner Sign-up

If you (or you and your significant other) are alone on Christmas Day, please join us at St. Barnabas. Don Collier will serve dinner in the Ministry Center at 1:00pm! The tentative menu will be ham, potatoes, vegetables, and dessert. We’re sorry but we can’t guarantee meeting any dietary restrictions. There's a sign-up sheet in the Narthex and the deadline is Sunday, December 18th so we can plan food.

November "Gift of Love"

Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative

We believe in home. Our many faiths call us to act to create more equitable communities where all people have a home. Beacon is a non-profit collaborative of nearly 100 congregations of all faiths in Minnesota. As volunteers, we help advocate for new low-income housing and funding for buildings, services and rent support. Over 500,000 people in Minnesota are unable to afford their rent. Our church has been active in Beacon for nearly 10 years. It is part of the Justice and Outreach ministry at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church.
