2025 Annual Stewardship Appeal
Our Stewardship theme this year is “Reflections”, helping to guide us to reflect who we are outside the church. These ministries include everything we do to serve the gathered community inside our church and the scattered community that we currently or hope to serve. While our mortgage is paid, there are still a number of building-related expenses and staffing decisions that are only made possible through the generosity of member giving.
This is the first time in the history of St. Barnabas that we are doing a single appeal, which only adds to the other points of inflection that we are all facing during this time. We hope you prayerfully consider your
financial gift to the congregation for next year.
Stewardship packets will be available at church this Sunday, October 27th and on November 3rd. After that, they will be mailed out to each household. Commitment Sunday will be November 17th, when it will be time to return your pledge cards and show your reflection as part of the congregation’s.

Pastor's Study Group
We are just getting started on a fascinating read titled How Your Church Family Works: Understanding Congregations as Emotional Systems by Peter Steinke. It is available on most bookstore websites. Feel free to join the group led by Pastor Tom as we learn and grow together: Tuesday mornings, 9:30am in the Alcove.

Hospital Visitation
If you or someone you know will be hospitalized and would like a visit from a pastor, please reach out directly to the church office or one of the pastors. HIPAA confidentiality laws prohibit hospitals from sharing patient information.

The Prayer Chain
If you would like to participate in praying for our members and friends, please talk with Pastor Tom or Pastor Stephanie. If you would like to request prayer from our Prayer Chain, contact Brenda in the church office or talk with one of our pastors. Please indicate if you would like your prayer request to be shared with the congregation, or if it is confidential.

Refugee Sponsor Team Update
Our sponsorship team is hopeful!! We've been denied what we thought was an excellent apartment, but have another possible rental unit to be viewed on Friday. Please keep the prayers coming; we know God is at work in this situation! Ruth and Eithan also continue with optimism each day. They have one relative (only one!) in the U.S. - he is living and working up north (and could also use a winter coat - size Men's Small/Medium). Eithan has been enrolled in the Richfield Preschool program and can begin as soon as a Richfield address is secured. Ruth is on track to receive benefits she is eligible for, is taking English classes at Tapestry, is trying very hard to adjust to cold weather (remember, she's lived her life close to the equator!), is preparing homemade meals including arepas, and is eager to begin working.
The Welcome Corps-sponsored housing will likely finish October 31st, so it's time to collect housing needs, even though we don't know TODAY where that home will be. Please contact Laurie Sanderson lseeksand@gmail.com or Beth Grosen beth.grosen@gmail.com if you are able to donate anything on the following list. We greatly appreciate all of your support!
-Beth Grosen, Margaret Wold, Cindy Dogan and Laurie Sanderson
