St. Barnabas Financial Support

Thank you for your ongoing financial support of St. Barnabas and our ministry partners. Your faithful support makes it possible to live out our mission in the community and the world.

Sunday, October 5th!

In October, churches across the globe often commemorate St. Luke. Luke was believed to be a physician and companion to St. Paul. The healing connection will be lifted up in our worship next Sunday. Particular focus will be given to the role a faith community can play in coping and caring for individuals and families dealing with dementia in a loved one. Please feel free to invite a friend or neighbor.

The Call Committee!

The Call Committee for our next Lead Pastor will be formally installed at both worship services on Sunday, October 5th. Please hold the committee, our other leaders, and the call process in your daily prayers.

Save the Date!

Wednesday, November 26th at 6:30 pm

Thanksgiving Eve Worship and Pie Social!

Join your St. Barnabas family for a fun service of gratitude followed by pie and refreshments. There will be a sign-up available for attendance and pie donations as the date approaches. You won’t want to miss this!

Help Wanted:  We Are In Need of Offering Counters!

This is an important role that takes place every week after the 10:30am service. Training is provided and the work is always done in pairs. Scheduling is dependent on the number of counters available. Ideally, we would like 4 to 6 more people to join this team. If you are interested or have

questions, please contact Bonnie Welshons at bonnie.welshons@gmail.com, Treasurer, or Kala Keefe at kala@keefecoparking.com, Finance Chair.

Thanks for your consideration.

Like Coffee?

Everyone enjoys having a treat and a cup of coffee with their friends on Sunday mornings, but we can’t offer this ministry of fellowship without people to host the coffee hour. While we could use more volunteers in lots of ministry areas, we’re especially in need of extra Coffee Hosts. If you’ve never volunteered in this area before, we will train you in everything you need to know. Sign up at the Welcome Center.

Hospital Visitation

If you or someone you know will be hospitalized and would like a visit from a pastor, please reach out directly to the church office or one of the pastors. HIPAA confidentiality laws prohibit hospitals from sharing patient information.

The Prayer Chain

If you would like to participate in praying for our members and friends, please talk with Pastor Tom. If you would like to request prayer from our Prayer Chain, contact Brenda in the church office or talk with Pastor Tom or our Pastoral Assistant Bryce. Please indicate if you would like your prayer request to be shared with the congregation, or if it is confidential. For those needing our prayers, any member of the congregation can request a prayer shawl for themselves, friends or family. Please contact Bonnie Welshons or Brenda in the church office to obtain a prayer shawl and the pamphlet that goes with it.

Take Action by October 1st!

Defend Federal Funding for Housing

Congress is now negotiating the 2026 housing budget and stakes are high. With a deadline of October 1st to create a unified budget, the House proposal includes major cuts to housing and homelessness programs. It also puts many other programs and services that make supportive housing effective, like counseling and job support, squarely in jeopardy. Meanwhile, the Emergency Housing Voucher program is on the verge of running dry. Without new funding, 60,000 households could lose assistance by the end of 2026, and with it, the stability they’ve worked so hard to rebuild. Let your voice be heard. Read Beacon's latest blog post and take action
