Outreach Opportunity:
Help Bless MISD Students
MISD has 1,245 elementary students in the reduced lunch program. Before they are able to return to campus, these students will need masks and a personal water bottle. We want to make sure each student has what they need to keep themselves and other students safe. That’s why we will be providing these for them.

The cost to purchase masks and water bottles for all the elementary students in the reduced lunch program across MISD is $4,000. The church has already pitched in $2,000. If you are able to help, we encourage you to give. Put “MISD help” in the memo of your check or use the other tab on our giving page and write the same. This is a chance to bless some families in our community in a tough season.

By the Well Sing-Along
Join us Friday, August 21st for our first ever By The Well Sing-Along, live on Facebook at 6:30 PM. But first, make sure you vote for your favorite contemporary worship songs! Then Jason and the praise band will sing the top ten hymns, chosen by you. Click the button below to vote for your favorite now!

3rd Grade Bible Drive Thru
On Sunday, August 23rd from 11am-12pm, we will have Bibles to gift to children in 3rd-5th grades who have not yet received a Bible from FUMC. This is a drive thru event in the parking lot where our staff will gift students with a Bible and special prayer over them at their car. Registration is highly encouraged (click below to register).

Thank You
Dear Church Family,
I just want to thank everyone for all of the cards they have sent my mom. She was overwhelmed by the love our church shares with someone they don’t even know. She has told all of her friends how wonderful our church is. She said she usually only gets junk mail and to get so many wonderful cards means so much. It has lifted her spirits during this difficult time. Having said that, God is so good. She has had few side effects other than being exhausted and feeling like a limp dish rag. She will lose her hair, but no nausea to date. Thanks again for all of the cards and prayers! Steve and I received one as well!
Monica and Steve Wilson

Dear FUMC Ladies,
How wonderful it was to return from vacation to a pile of beautiful cards from such wonderful women in the mail! Your loving kindness was truly uplifting and blessed me so much! Prayers are a treasured gift and I just wanted you all to know how encouraged I was reading that you were covering me before the Lord. There is a song that Ricky Skaggs sings, “Somebody’s Praying,” that has resonated with my heart in the midst of this battle, and I will think of you when I hear it from now on! God is so good!! Even in my darkest suffering, He brings delight. On our trip, it was seeing a bear in the wild; and when I got home, it was a stack of His words, His truths, His love written in ink for a stranger, yet a sister. Thank you so very very much for your thoughtfulness!
Much love,
Nicol Rodgers
