A Word from the Pastor
Godly Play will kick off this Sunday. Godly Play is a unique worship experience for our children. It is a Montessori style experience that uses sacred space and experiential lessons to help the scriptures come alive to our children. Every week the children have the opportunity to respond to God’s Word.

Though I have not had much personal experience with Godly Play, I have seen the fruit of it. My wife Annie is a storyteller, and both of our girls participate in it. Every Sunday our girls will tell us the parts of the Bible story that stood out to them and which part of the experience meant the most. Whenever you can engage a 6- and 7-year-old in that way, you’re on to something. I’m a big advocate for Godly Play for that very reason. It is a means of allowing our young people to be shaped by God’s Word and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Godly Play will be available during both our 8:30 AM and 11 AM worship services. All children ages 3 through 5th grade are invited to join. The children will be released to participate in it during each service and will return to worship just before service ends.

We look forward to seeing you and your children on Sunday!

"What is FUMC Midlothian about? How do I get connected? What is available for my kids? How can I serve?" You've been coming to church on Sunday mornings, but you know there is more to FUMC and you have questions. Join us Sunday, September 12th at 9:45 in the FLC for Next Steps with Pastor Brady and Pastor April. Here you can find answers to all your questions and more. Registration is not necessary. We hope to see you there! Contact the church office with any questions regarding Next Steps at 972-775-3993.
Saturday, October 2nd
October will be here before we know it! Lord's Acre is an annual church wide event and celebration that includes a Silent Auction (8 to 10 AM), followed by a Live Auction (10:30 AM to noon), a Country Store and culminating with a Turkey Lunch at 12 PM outside. It's fun for the whole family! Funds raised go towards ministries and special needs of the church. Please stay tuned for more details, as some things will look different than years past.
But, We Need Your Help
As October is quickly approaching, we need items for both the Silent and Live Auctions. We ask that you please think quality over quantity when assessing your contributions, as space is limited. We are not able to accept donations of large furniture. If you have something to donate, call Laurie Lundberg at 972-877-8838 and leave a message. Donation drop-off and other event details will be announced at a later date.
Calling all Crafters and Home Bakers
We also need to fill our Lord's Acre Country Store with beautiful creations and delicious treats! We would love your homemade donations for the Lord's Acre Country Store. Baked goods, savory mixes, seasonal decor and more are big hits each year. So share your talents, whatever they may be. If you have ideas or questions, please feel free to contact Cheryl Weadon
Saturday, October 9th
This year, our Lord's Acre Garage Sale is combining with our Annual Garage Sale the week after Lord's Acre, to allow for more space and volunteers. So if you've been decluttering and saving those treasures for the garage sale, it's almost time! If not, now is a great time to declutter and know that your donations will help support ministries of the church. More details coming soon!
