A Word from the Pastor
When I think back on some of the more formative moments in my faith, my confirmation experience ranks up there, but not for reasons you might suspect. By that point, I had already prayed to receive Jesus and was even baptized. What made confirmation such a powerful experience for me was that it was the first time anyone ever asked if I was ready for those things. I was told what it meant to follow Jesus and be a faithful member of His Body, the church. Rather than trying to convince me, they asked me to count the cost to see if I was ready to commit.

Confirmation is a time when the church takes some of our students aside to help them explore who Jesus is and what it means to be a part of His church. We take a look at baptism and prayerfully discern if that is a commitment they are ready to make. We create sacred space for them to consider where they are in their faith, and if it’s time for them to take the next step. We do our best to remove any sense of pressure. We want them to own their decision.

In February, we will begin confirmation for this year. This is an invitation to any of our students in 6th grade or older or any students who have yet to go through confirmation to join us. We will have a parent meeting on Feb 7th at 10:00 AM in the Family Life Center. If you are interested, please sign up using the Google Form below.

As a church, let us be in prayer for our confirmation class this year. May God give them the grace to count the cost of discipleship and that they may know the thrill of following Christ and serving in His church.
