A Word from the Executive Pastor
School is out, and our kids are home for the summer. Are you looking for ways to spend your summer out of the house? Our church has things planned for youth and the whole family. Hope you can join us for one or all of the following: On June 11th, everyone is invited to our Drive-in Movie Night in the FLC parking lot to watch the animated movie, Big Hero 6. The church is providing popcorn and water to share during the movie. June 11th is also the last night to register for Youth United Missions Week, July 11th - 15th.  We will be partnering with FUMC Mansfield for this event. More details on this week of service to come.
On June 16th, Wednesday night activities will begin for the youth. Our next youth series is called “Soul Fires”. We will begin kids’ first day back with the long-awaited Water Wars, which will include a water obstacle course, a slip and slide, water games, and snow cones. This event is from 6-8 PM.
Join us for a fun-filled, free community event at Mountain Peak Park on June 25th from 7-9 PM called GLOW NIGHT.  Everyone is invited to dress up in brightly colored clothes and play games, win prizes, dance, and participate in challenges. It will be fun for the whole family. Bring your friends!
Last but not least, on Sunday July 18th, after worship, our church is invited to an old-fashioned LAKE DAY at Lynn Creek Park (Joe Pool Lake) from noon-10 PM. It’s been a while since we have had a church-wide picnic. This venue gives us plenty of room to spread out and to visit with one another! Come together to celebrate as a faith community before we begin preparing for the next school year.
I look forward to seeing you at some of these activities. Please feel free to contact Keelee with any questions you might have, or if you’d like to volunteer your time this summer to work with the youth.
