A Word from the Pastor
Three years ago, our church embarked on the Growing Our Legacy campaign. It was the third straight campaign, which did not garner much enthusiasm at first. People were tired of capital campaigns at that point, which is understandable. Yet, in spite of that, the Lord did amazing things through the Growing Our Legacy campaign.

We have been able to revamp our campus, put $40,000 in an emergency fund, and reduce the debt on the Family Life Center by 60% in just three years.

On September 13th, we will be celebrating the end of the contribution period of the campaign. We want to honor you for your generosity and give praise to God for all He has done. This campaign has positioned us for life-changing ministry for years to come.

We will be celebrating the Growing Our Legacy campaign in each of our Sunday morning services (7:30 AM, 8:30 AM and 10 AM), so we invite you to join us in whichever way you feel most comfortable. This is a great moment for our church and I hope you will join us.

A Time of Prayer
We recognize that these are tough times. In such seasons, it's important to seek support. Galatians 6:2 says, "Carry each other's burdens and thus fulfill the law of Christ." The church staff wants to help shoulder some of your burdens by offering a time to pray with you. On each Wednesday from 12:00-1:00 PM, a couple of the staff will be outside on the George Hopper side of the church parking lot. Just pull up in your car and we can have prayer together.

Remember in Prayer
Our world, our country, our community leaders, all our military troops around the world, our church, our pastors, the staff, church members, visitors, and Midlothian community
Several weeks ago, we sent cards to Brenda Tucker's nephew's wife to let her know that we were praying for her while her husband Derek, who is in the National Guard, has been deployed for the third time--twice in Marines (Iraq and Afghanistan) and now in National Guard. He's somewhere around Saudia Arabia for 12-14 months. When we got Derek's address, we sent him cards. Here is the “thank you” that Brenda received from Derek. Cards from FUMC are powerful!!

"Just wanted to say thank you for the care package and all the wonderful cards from your church. I'm planning on writing them all back just don't have the proper time to get that done just yet. Everything is fine here, starting to get into a rhythm, but man is it hot here. Hope you are all doing well. Derek"
