A Word from the Pastor
I don’t know about you, but I’m still buzzing from this past Saturday, and not just because my Longhorns finally beat TCU in their stadium. I’m talking about Lord’s Acre. After being unable to host it last year, it was so good to look around and see people laughing and enjoying themselves. There was a great energy in our building. It was truly a great day!

In addition to the fun and great meal, we also managed to raise some serious money for the church. We took in a total of $24,358 through the Country Store, meal, as well as silent and live auctions. Of course, we’re not finished yet, but I’ll say more about that in a second. First, I would like to say, “Great job, Church!” Lord’s Acre is a massive undertaking. It takes people to donate valuable items, as well as people who are willing to put in some time and sweat. I couldn’t possibly acknowledge everyone who contributed, because there were so many, but please hear me say, “Thank you!” You gave so much of yourself to make sure this was a success. I’m so proud of you and our church.

An amazing day and $24,358 is worth celebrating, but as I said before, we aren’t done just yet. In the previous years, we have included the proceeds from the Garage Sale into those from the Lord’s Acre. The church-wide Garage Sale will actually be this Saturday. For details of times for drop off items and when it will begin, look at the information below the article. What I want to ask of you is to help us finish strong. I know this past Saturday required a lot, but we want to continue the streak by making this Saturday a success as well. If you have some time and energy to put into setting up for the Garage Sale or working it the day of, we would greatly appreciate it.

Pastor Brady Johnston

HELP! HELP! HELP!
It will take a lot of help to get everything ready to sell and to work the sale on Saturday. Please come help whenever you can. The FLC will be wall to wall with items and the more help there is to get it all organized, the faster it can get done. You know "it takes a village to raise a child" well it "takes a village to have an FUMC church garage sale". Please come help. Bring your small groups!
"What is FUMC Midlothian about? How do I get connected? What is available for my kids? How can I serve?" You've been coming to church on Sunday mornings, but you know there is more to FUMC and you have questions. Join us Sunday, October 9th at 9:40 in the FLC for Next Steps with Pastor Brady and Pastor April. Here you can find answers to all your questions and more. Registration is not necessary. We hope to see you there! Contact the church office with any questions regarding Next Steps at 972-775-3993.
Help Serve in Worship
We have some opportunities to serve on the Audio Visual (AV) team and in the By The Well band. The band specifically needs help with drums, guitar and piano. However, if you are interested in performing with the BTW band, please contact us, no matter the area your talent.
The AV team needs help running slides, sound, OBS (broadcasting live online) and help moderating in both the 8:30 Traditional and the 11 Contemporary services. No experience is necessary. We will train you!

Please consider serving in worship! We are flexible and able to work with your schedule.
The Pumpkin Patch
PUMPKINS ARE UNLOADED, SET UP AND READY FOR SALE!
Great volunteer turnout!
Pastor Brady was up to no good!
Finished unloading just in time for the sunset!
Sign Up for a 2 Hour Shift
Afternoon, Evening & Weekend Shifts Available
The Pumpkin Patch is a wonderful fundraiser for Youth Missions, but it is also a great opportunity for community outreach for the entire church! Please consider signing up for a two hour shift to work The Patch. You can take a look at the Pumpkin Patch sign ups by clicking the button below and see where you could give 2 hours of your time. Minors need to be accompanied by an adult. We will sign off on your community service hours worked.

And remember, you don't have to sign up alone! Sign up with a friend, your Discipleship Band, Emmaus Group or Sunday School Class. Thank you for your support. We’ll see you in the patch!
Join us for Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, October 24th from 3-5 PM! We will have games, candy, bounce houses, pumpkins and more!

Trunk-or-Treat is one of the biggest community events we host each year, bringing hundreds, if not thousands of people onto our campus. It is a great opportunity to invite our neighbors with a welcoming spirit! But to make Trunk-or-Treat truly successful, we need decorated trunks! So start thinking about how you can decorate your trunk in a family fun way. Sign up by clicking the button below.
Though each “Trunk” provides treats, we need extras to have on hand, in case some run out. Please consider donating candy, but don’t wait! If we don’t have enough reserve, we will go buy more the week before. All candy must be wrapped. Please do not donate candy with nuts or chocolate. Donations can be placed in the bin outside of Miss Keelee’s office.

Church Lunch & Note Burning
Sunday, October 31st, we will combine all three services at 10 AM in the FLC. We will then celebrate the paying off of the FLC with a church lunch and note burning! Please join us as we celebrate freedom from the FLC debt!
Calling ALL 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders!
Want to go to camp for a weekend? Come join us November 5th and 6th at Glen Lake Camp!

Bible Camp is an opportunity for children, 3rd-5th grades, to come into the camp setting and gain skills and knowledge necessary for navigating the Bible. This year, campers will learn about being a follower of God from the obedience of the Israelites that faced Jericho, the story of the tax collector Zacchaeus and repentance, and from the strength and confidence of Paul in a shipwreck. These building blocks of obedience, repentance, strength, and confidence will help our campers follow God and grow deeper through these Bible stories. Cost is $45 for the weekend (includes food). Visit Glen Lake Bible Camp for more information. Please contact Keelee Allen at Keelee when you register, as she will need to coordinate adults for camp.
A Note from Carter Blood Care...
Thank you for ensuring we have the blood needed for our community!

Your 30 units have already been processed and made available to those in need in hospitals. These units have the potential to save up to 90 Lives right here at home! It’s an amazing feeling to know you had a hand in that life saving provision. Please thank everyone who made it happen; the IMPACT will be felt for years!!!

Another huge success was you bringing 32 donors to the drive, 6 of which were first time donors (YAY!!!). What commitment and passion!

We can’t’ wait to see you guys again on Sunday, December 12th!

Thank you for being a part of something GREAT,

Karina
