The resurrection of Jesus changed everything. The disciples thought they understood the world and God's activity in it. However, it all changed when they encountered the risen Jesus. God was equipping them through His Holy Spirit to prepare them for the great mission He had before them. He wanted them to understand that their life before Jesus was going to be nothing like life after Jesus. Even for Christ-followers now, our encounter with the risen Jesus forever changes us. It leads us to live a life empowered by the Holy Spirit to carry His message throughout our world.

The Exodus is one of the most significant events in the Old Testament and in history. It is an epic story of how God shows up mightily and delivers His chosen people from the suffering of bondage and establishes a relationship with them. God uses the Exodus to foreshadow the most significant event in history: the coming of the Lord himself, Jesus Christ. In the big picture and in the little details God shapes a story in Exodus that has impact on how we look at what God has done through Jesus and what God promises to do that has yet to be fulfilled. Last Sunday, two baptisms were celebrate in the 9:30AM service. Please join us in congratulating Harrison and Mike for taking this next step in their faith!
NEW MEMBERS
Chris and Melissa Samsel, along with their children Aemilia and Noah, first came to Getwell in August of 2021. One of their first experiences here at Getwell was the FX production through our Kids Ministry. They loved it and were so excited to have found a church that had so much to offer their young children! Soon after, Chris and Melissa signed up to be part of a Life Group, seeking to meet and get to know other young couples in the church. They are currently part of Jesse and Brandy Lockhart’s Life Group. In addition to the Life Group, they have participated in various EQUIP classes over the past few semesters. Chris, who loves mentoring kids and is also a sports fan, recently talked with Lisa Otters in Kids Ministry about serving with Sports Camp on Wednesday nights. Melissa, who has a great passion for caring for babies, has committed to serving in the nursery! In February of this year, Chris and Melissa knew this was where they wanted to make their church home, so they participated in Get to Know Getwell and followed it up with the Covenant Class. They wrote their faith stories and signed the Covenant in April to become full members of Getwell Church. We are so blessed to have the Samsels as part of the Getwell family! Please give them a big Getwell welcome when you see them on campus!

NEW WOMEN'S MONDAY NIGHT PRAYER GROUP
A NEW Women’s Prayer Group will begin meeting on Monday nights at 6PM in the Prayer Room starting May 15! The purpose of this group is to reach women who work or cannot make the Wednesday morning time. We also want to expand this group to include women outside our church, so invite friends. Women of all ages are welcome!
PLEASE NOTE: The Monday Women's Prayer Group will not meet on the following dates:
- May 29 (Memorial Day)
- June 12 (VBS)
- July 3 (holiday weekend)
WOMEN'S WEDNESDAY MORNING PRAYER GROUP - Back on Campus!
PLEASE NOTE: The Wednesday Morning Women's Prayer Group will resume meeting on campus in FLC 3111 every week beginning tomorrow! Those who would like to join with other women to call upon the name of the Lord and cover our church, our families and our community in prayer is invited.

Individuals, couples and families are experiencing that one of the best ways to walk through life in community with others is in a LIFE Group!
What is a LIFE Group? These groups are made up of about 10 people either in similar age ranges/family statuses or in different generations. Groups meet once or twice a month at someone's home or another location, and each group decides when and where, as well as what to do about childcare. We would love to connect you with a group that would fit well with your life season.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY CLASSES
If you are looking for a class to grow deeper in God's word at an earlier hour than EQUIP classes, try an Adult Bible Study!

GOOD NEWS
Dive deep into the New Testament, reading and studying scripture together with class discussion. Meets at 8:15AM in FLC 3208, led by Stan Shoemaker.
LEARNING TOGETHER
This class uses the "Life Guide Series" individual study books covering Books of the Bible and its life precepts. Meets at 8:15AM in FLC 3111, led by Benny Krag.
NEW BEGINNINGS/KOINONIA
Join in studying books of the Bible, heroes of the Bible, and topics such as prophecy, heaven, the Holy Spirit, and our role as followers of Christ. They also support missions as a class. Meets at 8:15AM in FLC 3105, led by Carol Colaluca/Carla Proctor.
DIGGING DEEPER
This class works through books of the Bible using The Bible Project as a springboard. Meets at 8:15AM in Hub room 4008, led by Denise Blassingame and class members.

For several years, a team of volunteers from Getwell Church has served at the Field of Dreams event - a night where kids with special needs have an opportunity to experience the fun of a baseball game! MAY COMMUNION OFFERING:
The ARC of Northwest Mississippi
The ARC of Northwest Mississippi is an advocacy organization for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They create year-round training, programs and opportunities for these individuals and their families in DeSoto county by partnering with churches and other organizations. This month, the ARC is moving their offices and programming into a former church on Pleasant Hill Road. They will be undergoing Phase 1 renovations to the fellowship hall and building a fence around the 3-acre property. May Communion Offering will help with these renovations.
How can you give? Drop an offering into black boxes around the FLC on campus or go to: give.getwellchurch.org throughout the month.

There are two great options for you to join in praying with women from our church and across the community! First, a group meets Wednesday mornings (now on campus every week) to pray over known requests, praise God for answered prayers, and cover our community in prayer.
