COVID-19 Response Update
January 19, 2022
Due to the continued high numbers of cases in our community, the COVID-19 Task Force is recommending an extended pause on communal singing during worship services through the next two weekends, January 22 & 23 and January 29 & 30.
For these two weeks, we will also move to serve Communion using pre-packaged Communion kits that will be distributed after each worship service in lieu of wafers and cups. Following this two-week period, the Task Force will re-evaluate and determine if an extension of the increased protocols will be necessary.
Hymns and songs will still be included in worship and will be sung by one to two designated, fully masked vocalists. In addition to this pause, the Task Force is also supporting an extended pause of the following ministries for the next two weeks (through January 30), including weekly rehearsals: all music ensembles, which include Chancel Choir, Chancel Chimers, and Servant Song, as well as SPARK Sunday School ministries. Following this two-week pause, these ministries will be re-evaluated for resuming in-person ministry.
Finally, the Task Force continues to affirm Crown of Glory's current COVID-19 protocols (mask requirement and food/drinks restrictions in the church building):
  • The latest guidance from the CDC recommends wearing KN95 or N95 masks in public indoor spaces. Crown of Glory strongly encourages the wearing of these masks, or at least surgical masks (provided by Crown of Glory), over cloth masks.
