August Book Club
Book Club will meet Monday, August 26, at 11:00 a.m. Becoming by Michelle Obama is the book for the August discussion. All are welcome to join us each month. Meet in the conference room. September's book will be chosen at this gathering.
The Shoe Bus will be here August 29. New and gently used shoes are available for purchase. Sizes 0-6.5 are $2.00/pair; sizes 7+ are $5.00/pair. Every purchase helps provide food for the "Good In The Hood" feeding program. Invite friends, family and neighbors to stop by to shop at the Shoe Bus from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
You Are Invited to the Healing Book Ministry
The CoG Healing Ministry team is inviting new members to join its Monthly Lunch and Book Study. This Autumn we will read and discuss the second half of the text, "Healing Oils, Healing Hands" by Linda Smith, in which we will be delving more deeply into a discussion of the Essentials Oils mentioned in the Old and New Testaments, as well as those Oils used by Medieval and Modern Day Healers.
In Our Community: Bountiful Basket Food Shelf Welcomes Donations Anytime
Donations are always welcome at Bountiful Basket. Items such as dish and laundry soap, personal care items and non-perishable foods can be placed in the collection bin outside the sanctuary anytime. Thank you.

How Does Your Garden Grow? CoG Seeking Ajuga and Lamium Plant Donations
The Landscape Committee's next project is to enhance the west side of the building with new groundcover plants. If you have extra Ajuga or Lamium plants that you would be willing to share, please let us know. The committee anticipates planting these on or around the second weekend in September. New members always encouraged! This summer we've had wonderful music from people of all ages, from teens to senior citizens. This year , the musical talents of pre-teens will be regularly incorporated into worship. If you have a musical talent, Tom would like to know about it. Be sure to reach out to him to discuss how your talent can be shared at Crown of Glory.

  • September 4, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. CONNECT Orientation in Sun Hall

  • September 5, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. SPARK Orientation in Sanctuary

  • Rally September 7-8: 4th graders will receive their CONNECT Bibles in worship to celebrate this Faith Milestone. RSVP by Sept 4, to Gretchen Pierskalla which worship service your student will attend that weekend to receive their bible.

  • Rally September 7-8: Blessing of the Backpacks during worship services.

  • Rally September 7-8: Explore and register for different ways you may want to serve and grow after worship services. Youth and adults are encouraged to participate in Children’s Ministries.

  • October 13, November 17, December 8: Together In Faith cross + generational learning on Sundays 10:00 -10:30 a.m. Contact Gretchen Pierskalla to be part of the planning and leading of these events.

  • October 13. SPARK kids sing during worship at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. We will be learning two songs to share with the congregation at that time. See you in SPARK!

  • We are still in need of 10 washable markers and 7 clear tape & dispensers for SPARK. Thanks for getting us ready for fall!

  • Online registration for SPARK and CONNECT is open. Youth and adults can register to teach SPARK on Saturday or Sunday too.

  • We are looking for 12 CONNECT Guides.CONNECT is a pre-confirmation program for 4th and 5th graders on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. starting on September 11.
