Sunday, December 16, 2018--9:00 & 10:30 a.m
Chancel Choir, Crown Brass, Flute, Clarinet and you!
“The hopes and fears of all the years, are met in thee tonight.” This, the closing line from the first verse of that favorite carol "O Little Town of Bethlehem," is one of those pithy phrases that says and means so much more than mere words. They are Jesus Christ, the light of the world, dwelling in and with each of us. Meet Joseph, two 911 firefighters, and a newborn baby, and hear the story of unconditional love in story and song anew.

Is There Someone on your Christmas Gift List Who “Has Everything”?
How about sponsoring a student from El Salvador who would otherwise not be able to afford to go to school in that person’s name ? The need is great, and Pastor Kristie has pictures of the precious kids who are praying a sponsor will come forward to help them start the new school year in January.

K-9 students need $190 per year ; high school students, $370 ; and university students, $1,510 . We provide means for sponsors to connect directly and personally with their students.

Attention Adventuresome Adults!
Pastor Kristie co-leads a mission trip for adults willing to travel out of their comfort zones into a unique adventure of faith, learning, and self-discovery. Where, you ask? The beautiful country of El Salvador, the “Little Thumb” of Central America. All-in cost is $1,700 (final cost determined by the cost of airfare) and the dates this year are July 11-18, 2019.

Our home base will be a lovely guesthouse in a quiet neighborhood of San Salvador. Every day we will go out in microbuses to explore the treasures of El Salvador and walk alongside our Salvadoran Lutheran Church friends. We’ll visit historic sites, natural wonders, schools, and rural communities. We’ll eat pupusas, learn some Spanish, fall in love with these courageous, resilient people, and gain some perspective on our own lives and faith.

To register, a down payment of $200 is required. Brochures about the trip are available on the door to Pastor Kristie’s office. If you are interested, please take one and feel free to call PK with your questions, 651-235-2451.
