SPARK Lesson: "Parable of the Talents"
This Sunday, during the Children’s Message, Pastor Reggie will talk about the gospel story for the day from Matthew 25: 14-30, the same story that you will be reading for your SPARK lesson for this Sunday! We will be learning about the Parable of the Talents, a story where Jesus teaches about how God gives gifts to everyone. And, as recipients of these gifts, we are called to use them every single day to spread God’s love!
Nursery Nuggets
Hi Nursery Buddies and Parents:

We are still diving into how to be good stewards. When we are diligent about being good stewards of God, we realize all our blessings in life. Even better, when we share those blessings with others, God’s blessings spread all over to everyone! As we stay social distanced to not spread germs, we can look at a few ways we can still share blessings.

Read: Luke 5:17-26, "This is an excellent story of how our faith in Jesus makes us good stewards to act out that faith and there are blessings to us for it!"

Memory Verse: 1 Peter 4:10, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

Activity: Make a snowflake out of paper! Fold a piece of paper and cut shapes into the folded sides. When you unfold the piece of paper, you see your shapes multiplied. Like when we share our blessing, those blessings can get multiplied all over the world!

Have fun!

Ear Worms Reimagined

Do you get ear worms? You know that song that plays over and over AND OVER in your head and gets really annoying after a while? Being a musician, I get ear worms all the time. But I’ve learned to pay attention to them. Call it a God-thing, the Holy Spirit trying to get my attention, or just dumb luck, but often a song gets stuck in my head because something about the words and the melody gives me pause, and causes me to think.

Our song after Pastor Reggie’s sermon this Sunday is "Let Us Talents and Tongues Employ," ELW #674, a fun ear worm. But my ear worm is not verse one. It’s verse two:

Christ is able to make us one, at the table he sets the tone,
Teaching people to live to bless, love in word and in deed express.
Jesus lives again! Earth can breathe again! Pass the Word around! Loaves abound!

Take a listen, In this Stewardship season, we’re talking about our priorities for 2021, who we are and what we hope to do. This verse expresses that well. Christ can make us one; Christ can teach us to live to bless others and the world, and to express love in all we do and say. And in 2021, the year after “I can’t breathe” became a mantra, helping the world to breathe again seems like a very appropriate goal.

"Do Not Be Afraid" A Virtual Christmas Pageant
Despite all the plans that COVID-19 has forced us to cancel, we are excited to announce that the Christmas Narrative is STILL on!

This year, we will be recording a completely virtual Christmas Narrative and posting it on Christmas Eve. We will be using a brand-new script recently released by Illustrated Ministry, specifically written and designed for this year and the virtual age we are living in. It is still the traditional Christmas story, with all of the traditional characters, but it is cleverly set in the context of a parent telling a child the story of hope when he/she is scared. More details to come in the next few weeks!

If you or your child(ren) would like to be involved, please contact Pastor Laura
Parking Lot Construction
The West entrances and drive lanes at the preschool entrance are under construction! Crown of Glory has contracted with Kusske Construction Company to begin Phase #1 of our parking lot remodel.  Bob Chinnock, our volunteer building and grounds coordinator, will be the lead manager on the parking lot project. Our goal is to complete this first phase of the project before winter. Phase #1 of the parking lot project has been fully funded by the Pulte Land Swap Fund. We look forward to our new addition to the entrances and curbs along Cardinal Street on the West side of the parking lot!
