Music Notes From Tom Paulson
I must admit that I have a problem with Christ the King Sunday. I don’t usually think of Jesus as “King,” especially given my interest in English history. Henry VIII may have been “an unrepeatable miracle of God” just like any other human being; however, he and Jesus seem to have little else in common in my mind. I tend more toward “God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them” or “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul; and your neighbor as yourself.”

So I have chosen music that reflects maybe a broader interpretation of the day, that ultimately God is in charge, God is the  alpha and the omega, Jesus reigns over all and love will have the final word. Following Pastor Reggie’s sermon at 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., we sing “O God, beyond all praising, we worship you today, and sing the love amazing that songs cannot repay. For we can only wonder at every gift you send, at blessings without number and mercies without end.” At 10:30 a.m., Servant Song sings, “Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole? Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll? The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave, He is David’s Root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave. Is he worthy, of all blessing and honor and glory? He is!”

Creation Care Team Leads Education Sessions
This month, Creation Care Team Members presented in front of the Connect and Confirmation classes and shared how Crown of Glory is caring for God's creation by implementing recycling strategies which reduces garbage that ends up in landfills. They talked about clean water and the small things we can all do to that make a big difference in helping keep lakes and streams cleaner. Visit the Creation Care website page to watch Team Members at work. Enjoy!
