Attention Tobacco Retailers
Starting on July 1, 2021, all businesses that sell tobacco products will need to obtain an annual Tobacco Retail License (TRL) from the City in addition to an annual City business license.

The goal is to compliment the Stop Tobacco Access to Kids Enforcement (STAKE) Act, and stop retailers from selling drug paraphernalia to minors.

You can obtain the TRL at the time of your next business license renewal date online at ols.escondido.org and find additional information by visiting our FAQ section at escondido.org/business-license-information.
Structural Best Management Practices

The Utilities Environmental Programs Division coordinates a Structural BMP (Best Management
Practices) Maintenance Certification Program, where property owners and managers can provide written certification and pictures to demonstrate the BMP is in good condition to keep pollutants out of the storm drain.

Environmental Programs thanks all Escondido property owners who quickly respond to landscape maintenance needs, protecting water quality and keeping our City looking clean!
