A Time of Transition

As summer comes to a close and the back-to-school season begins, it's a time of transition for many—but for those experiencing homelessness, the change can bring unique challenges. While most children are preparing for a new school year with new supplies and fresh starts, homeless youth may face uncertainty about where they'll sleep or how they'll keep up with their peers. For adults, the approach of fall signals colder weather and the need for warmer clothing and shelter. As we move into this new season, it's a reminder of the ongoing needs of our community and the importance of coming together to provide support, stability, and hope for those without a home. Thanks to your generosity, the individuals who seek services at VOA will not only have the comfort of your support, but the knowledge that they are not alone in their journey toward stability. We can't thank you enough! ❤️

Alongside the transition into Autumn brings the arrival of our annual fundraiser and art show, Eye Contact! We are excited for you to join us as we showcase our participants, programs, and share stories of resilience and triumph throughout your journey of discovery. This year will bring a focus on education, meeting our staff, hands-on creativity, and connecting with our participants while you enjoy the art and entertainment with friends. Catch a sneak peek below of just some of the auction items you could win! We can't wait to share this evening with you!

Thank you, Numerica volunteers!

Envelope stuffing just got a major upgrade, thanks to Connie and her team at Numerica Credit Union! They brought the energy, the efficiency, and the fun. This incredible group stuffed over 2,000 envelopes for us with not one papercut! 😉 Our work would be impossible without our amazing community partners, donors, and volunteers. We’re so grateful for your help!

A proud moment adding her hand to the "Hands of Hope" wall! 💜

Sending out a huge thank you to our newest sponsor, Better Health Together!

BHT tackles health inequities throughout eastern Washington, working with more than 100 organizations across Ferry, Stevens, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Lincoln, Adams and Whitman counties and the Reservations of the Kalispel Tribe of Indians, the Spokane Tribe of Indians, and the Colville Confederated Tribes to promote practical solutions that meet the needs of the people and communities we serve.

BHT is founded on the principle that when you step back and let the local community lead, you find the best and most sustainable solutions to some of our most complex problems. We couldn't agree more! They have been a community partner to VOA since 2017, and we are looking forward to many more years of continued collaboration.
