| The summer is hurtling towards fall at a speed I am uncomfortable with, although the weather is more soupy than soup-worthy! So, let’s get to eating summer’s favorite produce – in baked goodies!
Is there some food you really dislike? I have a few. When I am at a restaurant and I ask, “what’s in the such and such…” and if they say cilantro, I can’t help but show my sadness that I need to find another dish. The server invariably counters with “you won’t even taste it.”
Yea, right!
Without reservations, I would like to proffer that the amazing chocolate chocolate chip cake that I will have at this week’s market is made “Best Ever” by an ingredient “you won’t even taste!” The not-so-secret-ingredient is the freshest, just-picked zucchini from Urban Roots, my BMFM neighbor. I will have samples, so come try it for yourself!
Speaking of “Best Ever,” Rick, whom you may know better as Trophy Spouse, wants to know who deems an item, a store, a service, “best ever?” Who is the rating agency for best gas station fried chicken, or best gas station coffee on I-95 or boutique candle shop? Where’s the transparency? And how does one get on the committee? This topic has been discussed and challenged on many road trips. And speaking of road trips, our son told me that he and his friends recently debated what constitutes a road trip! Is it a multi-day, multi-stop trip? A long, single destination round-trip, done in a day? Can a business trip be a road trip or does the purpose of the travel play into the definition? So much to ponder on these long, hot days of summer.
What I can definitively tell you is this -- I am excited to be back at the Market bringing you delicious treats!
