GOD’S OVERFLOWING KINDNESS

The superabundance of God’s kindness ties all of today’s readings together. Especially when life overwhelms us, the Lord provides all we need, and then some. In the Acts of the Apostles, Peter takes the lead when facing the Sanhedrin. We might expect the man who denied Jesus to crumble under the imposing glare of the high priest. Instead, the Holy Spirit helps him testify to his faith in Jesus Christ. What Peter had lacked before, courage and conviction, God provides in abundance. Similarly, today’s Gospel shows Jesus providing a surplus of fish for the disciples. They have no luck fishing until the Lord intercedes. Jesus supplies an almost ridiculous number of fish, and he cooks it for them, too. As our reading from Revelation affirms, the overflowing riches of God require constant praise. Countless creatures—“everything in the universe”—cry out to honor the Lord, forever and ever.

Crusaders 4H: A Program “4” Everyone

Isn’t this just about farming and cows? Not quite.

Crusaders 4H is an enrichment program where students learn practical skills, participate in regional and state competition fairs, and share learned skills with their community.

We are joining the National 4H program (Head, Heart, Hand, Health) and adding our Catholic social teaching to enrich all the students' lives. Students will learn practical lessons during the school day, after school, and at home. They will then be able to take these new skills and apply them to projects, contests, and service projects. Everyone at HTCS can participate.

Cloverbuds - Grades PK- 2

As a Cloverbud, students will discover the goodness of God’s creation and learn essential life skills and participate in afterschool programs, service projects at school, and the annual Crusader’s 4H Fair.

Juniors - Grades 3-5 & Intermediate - Grades 6 -8

Students in grades 3rd through 8th will be able to sign up for a project(s). They may participate in classes after school where they will be taught all the skills needed to compete in the Regional 4H Competitions. Winners of these competitions go on to state level competitions. All students will have the opportunity to show what they have learned in the annual Crusader’s 4H fair.

Parent Expert Volunteers will be needed to help run and teach the projects. Do you have a skill? Know someone who does? It could be anything from Cooking to Interior Design to Photography. If so, please contact Ashley Dickinson at [email protected] and let her know!

4H is a Community Program. We need parents, community members, teachers, and students. It is an opportunity to come together as the Body of Christ.

Please help us get started by filling out a google survey as a family.

Vacation Bible School is fun!

VBS offers a great way to share the Gospel and promote the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, prayer, snacks, games fellowship and fun music. This year's theme is Wilderness Adventure Through the Sacraments. As you journey through your life of faith, you will start to see just how incredible the sacraments are! Picture yourself as an explorer on a wilderness adventure, trekking through deep forests and climbing up steep mountains. You may encounter some challenges along the way, but with the right equipment (prayer and scripture) and the seven signposts (sacraments) showing the way, you will eventually reach the top, which is heaven.

This summer from June 6-10, schedule a week of VBS for your children in kindergarten through 5th grade.

Free t-shirt for the first 80 kids. Click here to print registration form. Or register on-line.

Fee: $30.00 per child. Family cap $70.00. Fee is waived for volunteers.

June 6 - Jun 10, 2022  Mon-Fri 8:30-12:00 pm. We will start the day with morning mass.
