Cryo-EM Virtual Booth, Cryo-EM Tools, ACA 2020, Jobs, Industry News, Updated Beamline Guide
An essential element in solving structures using cryo-EM is how samples are prepared onto the grids, vitrified, and then handled, once cryocooled. We are focused on improving the workflow and simplifying the steps in grid preparation.
Learn how you can take control of the variables influencing your grid quality, increase efficiency, and easily organize, track and ship your prepared grids.

Join us for a MiTeGen virtual booth and learn about the tools we have available for Cryo-EM sample preparation workflow. Register now to attend July 14th at either 10:30am or 2:30pm EST via Zoom.

American Crystallography Association 2020 Annual Meeting
The ACA 2020 annual meeting is now a virtual event due to COVID-19. The dates are August 2nd to the 7th. You'll need to register so as to be able to attend.

Even though it is a virtual event there are numerous speakers, posters, awards and more. Visit the link below to learn more and to register.
Structural Contributions to SARS-CoV-2 and the COVID-19 Pandemic
We are sponsoring the Structural Contributions to SARS-CoV-2 and the COVID-19 Pandemic session on Tuesday August 4th. This session features six speakers covering such topics as structures of the main protease, curation of structures, vaccine targets & more.
Updated Beamline Guide
We've updated our Beamline guide to include the latest beamline information as well as adding additional beamlines.

The guide is designed to assist you with determining who to contact, how to schedule your beamtime, what sample hardware is needed and more.
Industry Job Openings
Given the importance of structural biology and related fields, there are numerous job openings available. Listed below are some of the latest ones we are aware of:

  • Cryo-EM postdoctoral fellow - The Kellogg laboratory in the Molecular Biology and Genetics Department at Cornell seeks a talented and motivated postdoc to uncover the molecular mechanisms of macromolecular machines using cryo-EM.
  • Postdoc position in time-resolved crystallography - The research group led by Dr. Albert Guskov at the University of Groningen is looking for a postdoctoral fellow with backgrounds in crystallography or related fields who are motivated to work in an interdisciplinary research environment studying the dynamics of membrane transporters using the combination of photopharmacology and time-resolved crystallography.
  • Cryo EM Facility Manager - Yale University has an immediate opening for a Cryo-EM Facility Manager/Director at either the Associate Research Scientist or Research Scientist level. The successful candidate will provide scientific leadership, management, and day-to-day operation of Yale University’s new Yale Science Building (YSB) Cryo-EM Facility.
  • Director of Research - The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) is seeking a director of research in the area of Condensed Matter and Physical and Material Sciences.
  • Postdoctoral Opportunities in Toxoplasma Signal Transduction - The Reese lab at UT Southwestern Medical Center is recruiting two highly motivated postdocs to join our team studying the molecular mechanisms of signaling at the Toxoplasma-host pathogen interface.
