LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT SEPTEMBER 2017 :
Dear Crystal Clean Family Members,

It has been a difficult month to say the least. I had planned on sharing updates on upcoming company goals, projects and developments but we will wait until October to cover that information. For now I would like to give a hurricane recovery update.

An event like hurricane Irma can be very humbling as it reminds us all just how small and insignificant we are compared to mother nature. But, first of all, I want to thank everyone for “going the extra mile” with the hurricane cleanup. Many properties closed for several days and upon reopening, we had huge messes to clean up. On top of that, a few of our clients got a little impatient following Irma. But most of our clients were quite impressed with your quick response and cooperative attitudes. I also wanted to express my sympathy and empathy for just how difficult it is to care for families, homes and jobs simultaneously. Many of us had to continue working without having power or air conditioning or even showers at home. And a few of you are still without power, over a week later! So, please continue to contact us about your status and anything that we can do to help.

It was impressive and very touching to see how the Crystal Clean family pulled together to look in on each other as well as get so much accomplished in such a short time. The quick transformation on some of the properties was absolutely amazing. As for our office, it was really only shut down for one day, September 11th. (It helps having an electric company sub-station next door.) Sharon and I only went 5 days without power so we can’t complain but I admit I spent a night sleeping in my office just to feel some A/C again. LOL

It has been 13 years since hurricane Charley hit and I know for my part, I got a little lax and under prepared. I think we all learned a lot this time around though. Therefore, we are already taking numerous steps to better prepare for future storms. For example, we are stockpiling pallets of bottled water at the office and storing more gasoline. These supplies will be made available to Crystal Clean family members first and then later to the public, as a gesture of goodwill. We are currently discussing many other additional measures we can take to help the Crystal Clean family should the need arise again. If you have any ideas and suggestions, please let us know.

So for now stay safe and be patient and be careful. After all, each of us can only do so much.

NEW INSPECTION SOFTWARE
You may have seen our supervisors on your job site recently using iPads or iPhones taking inspection surveys. Don’t panic, we are rolling out new software that allows us to take a customized survey of each property. The program allows us to add photos and comments and post these to the client’s account where they can access these reports at any time and from anywhere.

The software employs QR codes and is GPS enabled to confirm exactly when and where the inspector was when the survey was filled out. This assures our clients that we are delivering on our promises and being proactive in identifying potential issues quickly. In time, the data collected allows us to spot trends and adjust our cleaning methods to prevent problems. But the real benefit of course is improved client satisfaction! And this is our CORE FOCUS: “We Solve Client Problems”
