Get ready for a night of chills and thrills at Sterne’s Woods in Crystal Lake! Our haunted hayride for teens takes you deep into the woods where eerie sights and spooky surprises await around every bend. As the sun sets, the shadows come to life with ghostly figures, haunting sounds, and spine-tingling scenes. It's the perfect Halloween adventure for brave teens looking for a night to remember. After the ride, warm up by the bonfire to roast hot dogs and s’mores under the stars.

Fri, Oct 10 is the night-it's Social Dance Night at Main Beach Pavilion

Barn Dance (ages 21+)

6:30-9 pm

$10 res/$13 non-res

Beginner line and couples dance lessons begin at 6:40 pm. Open dancing for all styles of dance, line dance, mixers, and pattern partner until 9 pm

Adv registration preferred but drop-ins are welcome (cash or check only)

Ages 21+

Take some time for a relaxing evening of yoga and social time all while overlooking beautiful Crystal Lake. Each participant will be allowed one 8 oz wine pour at the conclusion of class with time for social interaction in a tranquil setting. This is a great way to kick off your weekend! Pre-registration required by 10/14. Following this date, the fee will be an additional $5 per person. Does not qualify for 25% off promotion, missed class pass or punch passes.

Burn it up at this party because there isn't a party like a Zumba Dance Party! Don't forget to dress up in costume and glow items if you like! Join our Zumba staff as they take turns leading this fun party with a social afterwards and have one 8 oz glass or wine or sparkling water included! Come make new friends, learn new moves, and burn off those calories in this event. Grab a friend or two and have a fun night out!

We are looking for a sports action photographer! The Park District is always looking to add to our photo archives for marketing purposes and would love to get some Adult Softball League and Adult Volleyball action photos!

The Crystal Lake Park District Environmental Committee hosts a spring and fall firewood sale each year. Wood consists mainly of oak, harvested from fallen trees in our parks and natural areas.

The Environmental Committee uses the monies collected from the firewood sale to

purchase plants that attract pollinator insects. The Park District staff is encouraged to help plant the pollinator garden in our parks.

We will remain open through Oct 26. We will also open every Friday at 9 am instead of 3:45 pm. Everything you need to know to plan your visit can be found on our website.
