The Washington Crossing Council is excited to announce that Cub Scout Summer Adventure Camp is coming to Ockanickon Scout Reservation in 2024.

Based on feedback from unit leaders, developing an overnight camping program at OSR was an important, early initiative in the council’s Project: Trailblazer. During the last several months, the council’s camping committee worked with a focus group of Cub Scout leaders to assess what the program should look like and build a model.

Some details and preparations are still being finalized, but we want to share some critical information now, so that packs can confidently include Cub Scout Summer Adventure Camp in their plans.

  • Summer Adventure Camp will be a three-day/two-night overnight camp held at Ockanickon Scout Reservation in Pipersville, PA.
  • There will be two session options for Summer Adventure Camp.  The first session will be Sunday, July 28, through Tuesday, July 30.  The second session will be Wednesday, July 31, through Friday, August 2.
  • Scouts and families should sign-up to attend Summer Adventure Camp as a pack, not as individuals.
  • No special equipment will be required!  Campers will stay in tents provided by the camp, and all program supplies will be ready to go. The camp program will be run by the OSR camp staff.  All meals and snacks will be provided in the camp dining hall.
  • Scouts can expect a full program of fun activities such as swimming in the brand-new pool, STEM, nature & ecology, field sports and games, camp skills, crafts, and more.  The program schedule is still being refined and will be shared in the coming months.
  • Registration will open in January/February 2024.  The process will be announced at the information sessions.
  • Two virtual information sessions will be conducted where leaders and parents can get more details and ask questions.  Dates for these information sessions will be announced in the fall, but one will be later this year and the other will be in early 2024.
  • Cub Scout Day Camps will continue to be held throughout the council, as well.

Additional work needs to be completed in order to finalize the cost, theme, program, registration, and other important details.

However, there will be regular communication over the next couple of months.  To keep up-to-date with the latest details, please join our new Cub Scout Summer Adventure Camp mailing list.
