Cuba Partnership Visitors to Attend September Gathering

Members of the Presbytery of Baltimore and Presbiterio El Centro gathered in Cuba for 2017 Encuentro.

by Deborah McEachran, Cuba Partnership Team
& Pastor of Hunting Ridge Presbyterian Church
Each fall, the Presbytery of Baltimore invites two visitors from Presbiterio El Centro from the Presbyterian Reformed Church in Cuba to spend some time getting to know us better on our own turf.  The Cuba Partnership Team plans an itinerary for our visitors which will send them to various places around our Presbytery so that they can know more about us and more of us can learn about them.  It is a great opportunity for your church members to be exposed to the Cuban Presbyterian Church and to begin to explore the possibilities of your congregation partnering in the future with a church in Cuba.
Next month, from Sept. 8 - 17, the Presbytery of Baltimore will host TE Jesús Rodriguez, pastor of the Placetas Church; and, RE Xiomara Arenas, a member at the Placetas Church who is currently serving as Moderator of Presbiterio El Centro.  You can meet them at the Presbytery gathering on Sept. 14 at Knox Presbyterian Church in Baltimore. There, they will be joined with the Presbytery's other partners from the Dakota Presbytery and CEDEPCA (Guatemala) for a panel discussion on Race, Class and Poverty.  You may also choose to join all of our mission partners for dinner at The Center on the evening of Friday, Sept. 15. or accompany the group as it tours our churches and various attractions throughout Maryland.

Does your mission committee or session want to meet one of our visitors from Cuba?  Do you have questions about the ministry of the Presbyterian Church in Cuba?  Contact  TE Deborah McEachran for more information about ways you can attend a partnership event or schedule a meeting or informal conversation during a visit with our Cuba Partners during Sept. 8 - 17 visit.
