Voter Registration
Voter registration is open all year except for the 27 days preceding an election. After voter registration closes, Grace Period Registration begins 27 days before any election. If you register during Grace Period Registration, you are required to vote at the time of your registration. View voter registration options here.

Vote by Mail
- Required ballot application available 90 days before Election Day
- Ballots are mailed 40 days before Election Day

Early Voting
Village of Lake Barrington located at 23860 N. Old Barrington Road, serves as an early voting site, beginning October 24 through November 6. Hours are listed below:
10/24/22 - 10/30/22: Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Saturday 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Sunday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
10/31/22 - 11/06/22: Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Saturday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Sunday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Any registered voter in Lake County may choose to vote early starting 15 days before the traditional Election Day. You also have the option of voting at the Lake County Clerk's Office, 18 N County Street in Waukegan, beginning September 29. Check your registration status here: You can vote at any early voting site regardless of where you live in Lake County.

Vote-by-Mail Application Deadline is Nov. 3
Want to vote by mail in the Nov. 8 General Election? Applications must be received by the Lake County Clerk's Office by 5 p.m. Nov. 3. Applications can be downloaded from the County Clerk’s website and submitted electronically, mailed, or hand-delivered to the Clerk's office in Waukegan.
Your mailed ballot must be postmarked by Nov. 8 or deposited into one of the Lake County drop boxes or hand-delivered to the County Clerk’s Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day. For your convenience, Lake County has drop boxes at 18 early voting sites as well as six 24-hour drop boxes.
