Hello Cuba Township!
I am humbled and honored to serve as the Township Supervisor for the next four years. A special thanks to Mike Kainz for serving the community the last four years and being extremely generous with his time to allow for a smooth transition in May. Spring has sprung in Cuba Township and it is not just with the warmer weather and the sunshine. We have a newly elected Assessor, Nicole Knapik, who will begin her term officially on January 1, 2022. Nicole has been a stalwart advocate for the township as she has served as the Clerk since 2016. Another special thank you is granted to the current Assessor, Rebecca Tonigan, for her decades of championing the cause of Cuba Township taxpayers with complicated and confusing property tax matters and appeals.
We welcome Heidi Shannon as the newly elected Township Clerk and she has hit the ground running with Nicole’s mentorship. TJ Podgorski was deservingly reelected as the Highway Commissioner after ably guiding his team over the last four years and extending Cuba Township’s services to other local municipalities. The big red Cuba Township trucks are well recognized and appreciated in our area!
We are also excited to welcome two newly elected Trustees, Tiffany Andreae and Tom Kusmerz, Jr. Tiffany and Tom are Cuba Township fixtures. Tiffany’s local mortgage expertise and banking experience will be especially helpful to the team. Tom’s local nursery and landscaping business has served many Cuba Township residents over the years and his experience managing that business will play well with the Trustee team.
We are also very grateful for the re-election of Trustees Grant Born and Jill Talbot. Grant and Jill have been serving Cuba Township since 2013 and 2017, respectively. We look forward to Grant and Jill remaining active and sharing their institutional knowledge.
Sincerely,
Chris
