Thank You
As I finish my term as Cuba Township's Supervisor, I'd like to say what a privilege it has been contributing to this unit of government and its ongoing service to the community. My four years here have reinforced my belief in local government, and the fact that it delivers great value per hard-earned taxpayer dollar. From maintaining the local roads, to properly assessing your property's fair market value, to helping our local residents in need, Cuba Township delivers needed services. Along with those core missions, Cuba Township provides a host of other services, from passports to mulch delivery and many others. I'm proud of Cuba's food pantry, and the critical role it plays in providing access to nutritious food and staples for our residents in need. I'm also very proud of TJ and his hard-working road crew - they do an amazing job keeping the roads safe year-round. Township government is the original, and oldest form of local residents taking charge of their governance - it continues to be a vital and important part of our great democracy. I'd like to give a heartfelt thanks to Nicole Knapik for her hard work and diligence as Township Clerk during my term. Thanks to all for the opportunity to serve you.
Sincerely,
Mike Kainz

Public input is wanted. Open burning and landscape waste disposal options in unincorporated areas
|
Over the past two years, the Lake County Board Energy and Environment Committee has discussed alternatives to the open burning of landscape waste in the unincorporated areas to protect the health, safety, and welfare of residents. Currently, Lake County is the only county in the region that does not place restrictions on the burning of landscape waste in its unincorporated areas.
To better inform policy decisions, Lake County seeks to learn more about how residents are currently disposing of their landscape waste, what types of open burning restrictions they may like to see, and to gauge community interest in consolidated waste hauling services.
Feedback on this important issue is welcomed from everyone in the community. Learn more and provide your input at Lake County's interactive website.
