Playoff baseball is back in Chicago this October! We are looking forward to rooting for the Sox and even disappointed Cubs fans may come around... The weather, music, food, and myriad activities collectively hit a home run for our annual Fall Festival that took place on September 25th. Every aspect of the afternoon was tremendous. I wanted to thank those who attended [we estimated 500+ strong] along with everyone at the Township Office and the Road District who worked to make this community event the special day that it was. We also want to recognize the extraordinary commitment and efforts of our very own Nicole Knapik, Ant Simonian, Heidi Shannon, Sean Huff, Don Sonnefeldt, Chris Gaskell, Rebecca Novak, and TJ Podgorski to help make this happen. We do hope you had a chance to interact with the Cuba Township team.
If you missed that opportunity we have another upcoming popular community service, a Shred-It event, on Saturday, October 23rd between 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Shred-It will be shredding your old files onsite and disposing of them appropriately. The Shred-It truck fills up fast so get there at your earliest possible time that day.
Next month we will be introducing more ways to properly dispose of shoes and clothing in an environmentally friendly manner. Stay tuned for more details in the November newsletter.
Finally, embrace your ghostly spirit and celebrate Halloween safely later this month. Trick-or-treaters will be out and about in greater force this year and it will be nice to see all the creative costumes. We will - once again - have a public safety presence at the White Cemetery and advise against gatherings inside the cemetery fencing after dusk. Have a great month!
Sincerely,
Chris Karam
