This is the “Back to School” edition of our September newsletter. For those of you who have seen the Rodney Dangerfield movie, Back to School, take comfort in knowing that we will not be attempting a "Triple Lindy" on any diving boards any time soon. Go ahead and search for "Triple Lindy" on your web browser and you will know why. Meanwhile, we are keeping a school-like calendar of activities featuring office hours, food, and recess.
Let’s begin with office hours. We are delighted to welcome Illinois State Senator Dan McConchie to the Cuba Township office on Friday, September 9, 2022, from 10 AM - 1 PM. No appointment is needed to get the lowdown on everything happening in Springfield.
Thank you to those who regularly contribute to our food pantry. Both food and cash donations continue to arrive, and we continue to support those in need. We recognize that food is becoming more of a choice for many, with commodity prices and rents rising. Please know you are making a difference.
Ok, now on to everyone’s favorite school subject…recess. It is that time of the year again when we are excited to host the community for an afternoon of food, fun, and entertainment at our annual Fall Festival. Join us on Saturday, September 24, from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Mario’s Food Cart, Sons of Bildor, the pumpkin patch, and a plethora of kids’ activities are back by popular demand. We can’t wait to see you and catch up on the last 12 months. We thank those who have reached out to sponsor activities and have room for 1 or 2 more sponsors. Don't hesitate to contact Ant at 847-381-1924 if you are interested in sponsoring an event. Sponsorship signs will be displayed throughout the festival.
See you all soon and please have a safe and relaxing Labor Day Weekend.
Thanks,
Chris
