Say it isn’t so! Summer’s days are numbered, and bee season has descended upon our community. We completed a busy summer of activity here at the township office, culminating in a new driveway to enhance the community’s visiting experience. Our very own Cuba Township Road District (“CTRD”) team resurfaced the driveway. It repaired the walkway entrances to expand the number of visitors we could host at any one time and ensure safe walkways into the building. Thanks to the entire CTRD team for making that happen on time and on budget!
September is also a time to appreciate the autumn season as the leaves change color, the cider mill donuts complete your Saturday mornings, and, of course, Fall Festivals get underway. This is a great time for our community to convene outdoors in fun-filled settings for residents of all ages. Join us and meet our team of public servants and employees at the Cuba Township Fall Festival on Saturday, September 25th, between 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Food, beverages, and entertainment will be available, but, most importantly, visit with your fellow community members over a few Mario’s Cart tacos while School of Rock pumps you up to cheer on your favorite college football team.
And don’t forget our Shred-It event on Saturday, October 23rd, between 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. We will have a truck available to take those old files and shred them on-site. This is a very popular event every year so get there before the truck fills up.
The fall also leads us into the holiday season, and we have some exciting news to share for those of you looking to either donate clothing and shoes or, if they are too worn for donation, to dispose of those textiles in an environmentally friendly manner. Keep your eyes open for the October newsletter for more details.
Lastly, a special thanks to our food pantry coordinator, Beth Talkington. Beth has taken a position back into the “real world” for KPMG, where she will be leading their college campus recruiting efforts for the next 3-4 months. Beth has made an indelible impact on many in our community. Thanks, Beth, and don’t be a stranger.
We are looking forward to seeing you soon, and as much as it pains me to say it [as a Detroit native], Go Bears!
