San Bernardino County is poised for major growth, and the development of Cucamonga Station in Rancho Cucamonga is helping lead the way. A recent feature in Site Selection Magazine highlights how strategic transportation and infrastructure investments are reshaping the region for the 2.2 million residents who call the county home.
At the heart of this transformation is Cucamonga Station, which will serve as a key hub for the future Brightline West high-speed rail system. Once operational, passengers can board the train in Rancho Cucamonga and travel to Las Vegas in approximately two hours, with additional stops planned in the Town of Apple Valley and Hesperia.
Cucamonga Station represents an unprecedented level of multimodal connectivity. It is expected to be the only station in the country to integrate high-speed passenger rail, local commuter rail, direct airport connections, shuttle bus service, and a dedicated bicycle path to create a seamless and accessible transportation experience for residents, workers, and visitors alike.
Site Selection Magazine also highlights additional projects driving regional growth:
- Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling Facility Expansion: The first new Coca-Cola plant built in California in 50 years is underway in Rancho Cucamonga. The project will add 110 jobs, bringing total employment at the facility to more than 500, and will produce over 30 million cases annually. The state-of-the-art facility incorporates drought-resistant landscaping and advanced water-efficiency systems.
- Barstow International Gateway (BIG): A 4,500-acre intermodal logistics hub developed by BNSF Railway that will include rail yards and warehousing facilities designed to transfer freight from international to domestic containers.
Stay tuned as we continue to share updates on how San Bernardino County is evolving and read the full Site Selection Magazine article here.
| | 2025 A Record Year for ONT, Kicks Off 2026 with Unveiling of Bold New Monument Sign | | ONT unveiled a new monument sign at Archibald Avenue and Airport Drive on January 21, 2026, as part of its year-long celebration of a decade of local control. | | |
Ontario International Airport (ONT) is making a compelling case for itself as the new global gateway for Los Angeles by posting a record number of international travelers in 2025, the result of expanded nonstop service to Latin America and Asia.
According to data released by the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA), ONT welcomed 567,000 international passengers last year, a nearly 30% increase over 2024. The sharp rise helped the airport surpass 7.1 million passengers overall for the year, the fifth consecutive year of post-pandemic passenger growth and the highest number since ONT’s transfer to local control in 2016.
As part of ONT10, a year-long celebration of local control, a striking new monument sign at Archibald Avenue and Airport Drive was unveiled–marking a powerful visual statement of the airport’s transformation and its continued momentum as it celebrates a decade of local control.
Standing approximately 12 feet tall, each of the three “ONT” letters is crafted from durable sheet metal, with the full installation weighing more than eight tons. The monument stretches roughly 60 feet across at its widest point, anchored by a deep concrete foundation that ensures its permanence for generations to come. A series of LED light bars will illuminate the sign at night, with the ability to change colors for holidays, special events and community celebrations.
In other ONT news, the airport announced its ONT+ Visitor Pass Program nears 100,000 users. Launched in 2022, ONT+ is a free digital visitor pass program that allows non-ticketed visitors to access the airport’s post-security terminals, making it possible for friends and family to accompany travelers to the gate or enjoy ONT’s restaurants and shops beyond security. ONT was the first airport in the nation to introduce a digital visitors pass program and remains one of only a handful of U.S. airports to offer this level of access.
