Foodies rejoice -- Scarsdale Adult School has three culinary walking tours this month to tickle your taste buds and satisfy your appetites. All are led by Renee Cohen, a passionate cook with a zest for finding the best eateries in the city.


Please note: students are responsible for their own transportation to the meeting spot.

Culinary Walking Tour: Arthur Avenue

Explore Arthur Avenue, Bronx's Little Italy, and its many food shops. Witness a cheese making demonstration, tour behind the scenes in a famous bread bakery, stroll through Arthur Avenue’s famous special indoor market, see a pasta demo, sample local delicacies, and finish with a delicious lunch at one of Arthur Avenue's famous but secret spots.

Culinary Walking Tour: Industry City

Industry City, a six million square foot 35 acre campus along the waterfront in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, is a one-stop ecosystem for experiences and one of the best new destinations for foodies. Explore the exciting eateries, craft beer, and food start-ups. Please note that the entire tour is indoors.

Culinary Walking Tour: Chinatown

Learn about Chinatown's history and secret wonders in this amazing neighborhood while tasting your way from one culinary delight to another. Tour will stop at Nam Wah Tea Parlor, the oldest dumpling restaurant in Chinatown, eat at Fried Dumpling off Mott Street, visit Grand Harmony and Jing Fong for dim sum, try the specialties at Yummy Noodles on Bayard, shop at Hong Kong Supermarket for all things Asian, drop by Hwa Yuan for special Szechuan Tang Tang noodles, enjoy BBQ beef and spring rolls at Pho Viet Huong, savor the menu at Joe's Shanghai, sip bubble tea, and stock up on awesome kitchen wards at Best Quality Restaurant Supply. See, smell, sample, and explore. Wear comfortable shoes for approximately 1.5 miles of walking.

RENEE COHEN began baking with her mother in their home kitchen to sell to neighborhood restaurants and eventually, the family opened My Most Favorite Food, a restaurant and bakery, where she managed, baked, and created menus for over a decade. She earned a Master Culinary Degree at the French Culinary Institute (ICC) and completed the Techniques of Fine Cooking at the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE). She also received a Masters Degree in Education between management and chef positions. She founded CuisineArts to marry her passion for cooking with her love of teaching.
