The 45th Culligan City of Palms Classic provided a number of highlights and upsets! The No. 1 ranked Memphis East (Tenn.) Mustangs trampled most of their competition until they met the talented University School (Fla.) Sharks. Top guards Alex Lomax of Memphis East and eventual MVP Scottie Barnes of University School dominated the perimeter while the Sharks' Vernon Carey Jr. was a force down low. University School poured on the defense in the second half while improving from 45% shooting during the first half to 55% from the floor during the second half. In the end University School's stifling defense and great performances from key players made all the difference. Congratulations to University School for bringing home the 2017 Culligan City of Palms Classic championship! Thank you to all of the teams, players, sponsors and attendees for making this year another one for the books!

Every year the best dunkers in HS hoops take to the court to challenge each other at the Culligan City Of Palms Classic. This year's show was spectacular, featuring a variety of takes on dunk classics. Crowd favorites Cole Anthony (Archbishop Molloy, N.Y.), runner up CJ Walker (Orlando Christian Prep, Fla.) and Edison National Bank slam dunk winner Scottie Lewis (Ranney School, N.J.) put on an incredible show. Thank you to all of the participants for showing off incredible athleticism.

The North Law Firm 3-point contest was a thing of beauty at this year's tournament. In the end it came down to Harvard bound Spencer Freedman (Mater Dei, Calif.) and West Virginia Mountaineer recruit Jordan McCabe (Kaukauna, Wis.) gunning it out. Despite wearing cargo shorts, McCabe put up quite the fight including walking off the court before his final shot splashed in. Alas, it was no match for the sharpshooting skills of Freedman. But before being awarded the trophy, he faced one last opponent.... COP legend, collegiate all-star and high school All-American Teddy Dupay! After a brief theatrical showdown Freedman was awarded the 2017 COP 3-point contest trophy.
