Summer Health Education Program (SHEP)

A huge thank you to UCSF’s Department of Neurological Surgery for an inspiring presentation about the BRAIN! Our SHEP participants explored a variety of careers in healthcare, delved into the fascinating field of neurosurgery, and even had the chance to closely examine the intricacies of an actual human brain!

Health Core Fellowship 

Are you ready to take your passion for health care to the next level? Recruitment for our Health Core Fellowship Program is happening this July and August! This is your chance to join a dynamic group of fellows for a year-long allied health program that includes an 8-week Summer Health Field Internship. As a Health Core fellow, you’ll be placed in various health care settings around the Bay Area, learning directly from experienced service providers and gaining invaluable hands-on experience.

Internship placements include:

1. Office of Health Equity [DPH]: Pathway Program
2. Mission Neighborhood Health Center
3. Community Health Program for Youth (CHPY) Clinics
4. UCSF/ZSFG Pediatric Asthma and Allergy Clinic

Digital/Tech Boundaries Workshop

We had the pleasure of hosting Taylor Stommel, Youth Domestic Violence Prevention Coordinator at Black Women Revolt earlier this month. Taylor spoke to those in our Youth Outreach Squad (YOS) about setting boundaries while using technology to stay safe. Let's learn together and empower ourselves to navigate the digital world confidently. Thank you, Taylor, and Black Women Revolt for helping us keep young people in San Francisco safe!

Our counseling team of Clinical Social Workers and Marriage & Family Therapists partner with young people to help them explore their goals and aspirations, build coping skills, manage grief, sadness, and anxiety and help them develop the confidence to tackle obstacles.
