October 2026

National Farmer’s Day is October 12th, but around here, we celebrate year-round. Nobody shows us better what can grow from hard work.

Think of RCCF as a farm. One that cultivates care.

While it’s harvest time for Rush County’s implement-driving agricultural heroes, we find ourselves inside multiple seasons daily.

New funds are seeds being planted. Donations arriving weekly are the fertilizer for existing funds. The investment pool acts like the sun, encouraging strong healthy growth. Grants and scholarships are the bounty of the harvest to be shared.

Together, we’re farmers working to ensure the highest yields for the community. As you’ll read below, we have some fabulous help – Doug and Kathy Gosser, the YIP students, 9/25 Day donors, and all the organizations caring for Rush County. We’re honored to roll up our sleeves and work alongside you, friends!

Did you know that RCCF has 20 Field of Interest Funds addressing needs in autism, agriculture, food insecurity, seniors, education, music, and athletics?

From stretching budgets to expanding minds, this cycle's grants are enhancing life in Rush County.

Donor Story: The Shared Values of Doug and Kathy Gosser

Doug and Kathy Gosser saw a need and used their ability to help fill it. During a recent 1:1 match on donations to the Schroeder Fund, they made a major gift.

“Rush County will always be home to me," shared Doug Gosser. "My roots run deep there, and I will always be proud to say I’m from Rush County."

It's Official... YIP is Back!

Our thanks to RCCF board members Kelly Morgan, Julie Leisure, and Toni Schultz for their help in guiding YIP!

The newly relaunched YIP (Youth in Philanthropy) group held its first meeting at RCHS on 9/30 with 18 students participating. All classes, freshmen through seniors, were well-represented.

Each member was asked to share a word they associated with philanthropy. Here are their responses:

  • Caring (2)
  • Committed
  • Community (2) / Community good
  • Giving / Giving back / Giving to people
  • Helpful / Helping (2) / Helping others
  • Impact
  • Service
  • Support (2)
  • Togetherness

They're definitely on the right track. Stay tuned for updates and new social media accounts specific to YIP.

Your Support in Action: Gleaners

These dollars offset the cost of more than 46% of the food these schools received from Gleaners.

Gleaners Food Bank received two grants totaling $15,000 to support their school-based food pantry program at Milroy Elementary and RCHS.

Thanks for Celebrating 9/25 Day!

By golly, we're so grateful to you and Dolly!

Your generosity added $530 to the Rush County Dolly Parton Imagination Library Fund to help keep free books in our kids' hands forever - Thank you!

Non-Cash Gift Options: Gifts of Grain

If you’re a farmer looking to reduce your tax burden, consider making a gift of grain to RCCF. At the time of sale, decide on a dollar or bushel amount to donate and let any local elevator know. It’s simple and beneficial to you and your community.
