NEWS | SOME CITY FACILITIES SET TO REOPEN SOON...
Please note, with the fluid nature of the ongoing emergency, some dates listed below are subject to change.
Playground equipment, July 24 | Residents should note playground equipment will not be sanitized. 
Port Weller Community Centre, July 27 Drop in recreational activities and modified programming.
St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre, July 28 Reservations required, call 905.984.8880 to book your time.
Happy Rolph's Animal Farm washrooms, July 31 Animals will not return this year to the farm.

The City updates the COVID19 Information website frequently as new details become available. 



    
MANDATORY MASKS BY-LAW
St. Catharines by-law requires owners and/or operators of enclosed public spaces, to require mask use by those entering their establishments, in addition to the provision of hand sanitizer at entrances.
The Mandatory Masks By-law is now in effect, enacted on  Friday, July 17, 2020 .

ARTS & CULTURE COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION PROGRAM

The Arts and Culture Community Revitalization Program support s projects that engage St. Catharines residents through performances, community art experiences, neighbourhood cultural activities and/or experiences that encourage participation, creativity and innovation. Priority will be given to arts and culture initiatives that support downtown revitalization and/or seek to enhance public life during recovery from the COVID-19 epidemic.
Deadline to apply: Friday, July 31, 4:30pm.

Deadlines for the following programs have closed for 2020: Culture Days Activity Program, and Sustaining Funding (Core, Midsized and Festival Programs)

A drive-in arthouse cinema with great things to eat rolling across Niagara this summer.
The first stop is at Church and Wellington Streets in St. Catharines. 

Multiple Dates | Gates to the lot open at 8:30PM / Films start at 9:15PM. 
Due to current restrictions, capacity is limited and ALL  tickets must be ordered in advance.
Tickets are $36 per car, food not included.

Museum Re-Opening
The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre will be re-opening to the public on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. 
  • The Museum facility and the Lock 3 Viewing Platform will be open by timed entry only. 
  • Visitors will be required to call ahead and book a time to visit the facility. 905.984.8880
  • Visitors will have 1.5 hours to visit the Museum and Lock 3 Viewing Platform with their timed entry. 
  • There will be four entry times throughout the day: 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.; 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Masks will be required to visit the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre.
  • The Centre will be closed at times throughout the day to accommodate additional cleaning of the facility.
  • The Lock 3 Viewing Platform will only be accessible through the building in order to control the number of visitors to the site.
  • Visitors are encouraged to wash hands frequently and hand sanitizer stations are provided throughout the facility to help visitors stay safe

Digital Exhibit: Express Your Stress, Creations in Quarantine
- Art to reflect the artists feelings and mindset during the COVID 19 pandemic
- 10 artists will be selected, artist fee of $500
- Mediums eligible: visual arts, film, photography and other multimedia
- Beginning in September, a 10 week online exhibition - one artist featured each week

CALL FOR ARTISTS AND PERFORMANCES
Arts to the Folks, Presented by the Niagara Folk Arts Festival
Seeking artists from all formats: music, dance, DJ's, visual arts, dramatic readings, theater presentations and more. Presentations do not need to be cultural in nature and could be presented in other languages. Performances must be family-friendly and able to be presented on a residential front lawn, sidewalk or boulevard. The performances will be live streamed. Artist bursaries to be negotiated.

PERFORMANCES TO BE AUCTIONED
The venues for each performance will be at local residential addresses, determined by an on-line auction-highest bid wins the right to have a 'show' on their front lawn or driveway.
